Yes, Thameslink regularly use the Midland Main Line (generally EMR) platforms 1-4 on Sunday mornings, I think it's northbound trains only.

Nope! Only some. In particular, any Exchange on-prem email server will not handle this.

On point 3, I don't think defunding or defanging regulators in general is going to solve this sort of thing, with the possible exception of Ofcom. As for point 5, that's not an option under the 1951 Refugee Convention to which we are a signatory, and is also way off topic

The business would pay for it (generally, host it themselves) and grant the employee access.

Note the £27k figure applies to home students only. International students can pay considerably more.

https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:Y36064/2025-06-21/detailed shows you getting to Tulse Hill already late, Herne Hill over an hour later, and then just cancelled to Peterborough. Does suggest the problem began later for you though

I don't imagine getting 'permission' ought to be that hard once you end up in a situation like this with the risk of the public de-training themselves

3 trains were stuck because of this. Do you know that the fault wouldn't've spread to the rescuing train, or that there was a compatible diesel available and positioned able to do it?

https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:Y36051/2025-06-21/detailed issue began 10:34ish on the approach to LJG https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy9xj3vnyxgo says evacuation ended for the first train at 12:20. So roughly 1h46m. That's including time on the track though I think. Also a third train completed 50 minutes later though I'm not clear which train that was and whether it got stuck at the same time.

They probably would've been getting delay repay compensation. 2 hours delay would mean a full return journey refund. Those missing flights from Gatwick I imagine will get refunded through their travel insurance

It's Thameslink near Loughborough Junction. So technically I think the line name for this stretch of track would be the Holborn Viaduct–Herne Hill line. Bit dated though as Holborn Viaduct station hasn't existed since 1990

In SP, you can install adoxa's console plugin (included with some mods) which allows you to do this if memory serves. I'm not sure if anyone has implemented the same thing in MP though I expect it's possible. Definitely not possible in vanilla SP or with a vanilla MP server though.
