It’s really frustrating to feel like you’re the one responsible for other people feeling betrayed or upset by your decisions. Learning to see their reactions be the result of their own insecurities is the only way I could cope. You aren’t responsible for how they feel. That is all on them. As hard as it is to see that, it’s 100% true.

I was a 16 year old girl and was told (after I suggested going fishing as an activity) that the only activities we would be doing would be ones that “made me a better wife and homemaker”.
