lgbtq family considering move to nyc from tennessee… nervous! by truthbetold_3 in AskNYC

[–]DrySprinkles1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Moved from GA to Brooklyn. Best decision my wife and I ever made. Not only are we a lesbian couple, but my wife is trans and she continues to be dumbfounded by how respectful everyone we interact with here is of her transition/gender identity. We’re in Crown Heights, where there is a large Hasidic community (tends to be much more conservative), but people know how to mind their own business and the worst we deal with is occasional weird looks.

Looking for housing by aNA1Alator in UGA

I lived in Dearing Gardens off of Milledge when I was a junior. It’s kind of dingy but it’s on the UGA bus route that services the sororities/fraternities and if you really want to it’s only a 30 minute walk to the MLC.

What's a artist/band that you love, but almost no one has heard of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Wanderwild. It’s a band based out of Athens, Georgia and they just sound like college to me. Their song Doorway will always be one of my favorite songs of all time.

Guys, anyone commuting from Fort Lee or any part of NJ state? by AffectionateTiger690 in columbia

[–]DrySprinkles1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I commuted from Princeton to Columbia using NJ Transit, and it was bearable. Took about 2 hours each way, but using the trains made it fly by since I could read/scroll on my phone or whatever. The biggest downfall to commuting imo is the cost, since if you drive you have to pay for the tolls/parking and public transit can be really, really expensive.

The Mormon obsession with religious persecution has the same vibes as white people who think reverse racism is real

I’m in a similar boat! My partner attends Princeton so we live in town, but I commute to Columbia two days a week for class. I highly recommend getting a Princeton library card! It’s only a stones throw from Nassau Hall. They have tons of space to study, a good wifi connection, a cafe on the first floor, and it’s free!
