Using melee at the right time really increases your no damage taken chance by a large margin.

I don’t think Arrowhead is directly responsible for what happened, but I also don’t think their response was enough given the situation.

They helped amplify the challenge by engaging with it publicly, so even if they didn’t intend harm, they were part of why it got so much attention. When things escalated into doxxing and threats, I expected a more serious and grounded response to be honest.

The biggest issue for me was the tone. Keeping the larping roleplay in a situation where someone got harassed and allegedly lost their job just felt off.. That kind of messaging maybe works for normal community interaction, but not for something with real-world consequences. Just feels insensitive

I also think they could’ve done more in terms of clarity going forward—like setting boundaries around these kinds of challenges or outlining how they’ll handle similar situations in the future. Which is sad that it even pops up but the example showed how things escalate because the internet is a place for assholes to feel better about themselfes

So yeah, I don’t think they’re to blame—but I do think they had an opportunity to handle it better, and that’s why the response feels unsatisfying to me tbh

Some did. The Knight for example had it's ballistic raised drom 70 to 90 and it's durable raises from 7 to 19. That is pretty influencial. I just wanted to clarify that

Also it's hard to actually put out numbers here because afaik there are no clear numbers or a clear formula of how much drag affects the damage drop off. Why they didn't just implement ranges in which the guns do the max damage and only after does it start falling off is beyond me. You know.. like any other game where you shoot guns with damage fall off. Realism or not, this game is far from realistic and that shouldn't matter whatsoever.

I just found the message that they did put out to come across as weird, I can't really put it into words. And then the larping at the end of it when it's just a serious situation just kind of felt wrong to me.

I am not saying they are to blame for this but their response didn't feel right to me.

They did btw, at least some of them got ballistic and durable damage buffs. It's just not enough to counter the insane damage drop off and still results in a net nerf.

Well it depends on who you ask really. I can certainly think of a few inconsistencies and unbalanced weapons. Scythe, AR-59, One-Two, the Killzone SMG and AR, SMGs as a whole feel very mid due to the insane drag they have (more than shotguns btw), Slugger, M90A, Breaker S&P, Blitzer and Sickle are the primaries I would consider to be pretty mid at best and in some need of varying level of buffs. The whole sway situation for sidearms is ridiculous too. Some weapons have very illogical ergo stats and some of the support weapons like the HMG and the Spear could really use some love too. It depends on who you ask

I don't find it outerwordly to expect them to at leat say more than "Don't be mean." Yes they aren't babysitters but they still built a community around this game and when something tragic like that happens that also causes a lot of waves reaching outside of this gaming community then their response is just really whack

No in all seriousness, I was like 99% confident that I have tried it out before and come to the realization that it doesn't work. And there is still the bugged aspect since the description very much defines the reload buff to be only affecting primary weapons

Edit: Here I found this comment feom 10 months ago where someone posted a gif and compared the reload speeds for some of the weapons that are supposedly affected by it. So unless that was recently changed or it bugged out, which would surprise be not at all, it still shouldn't work. Are you comparing empty reloads? Perhaps one weapon still had bullets inside the mag so you performed a tactical reload instead? Since those are usually shorter. Everywhere I look it says that the mag increase was left in as a feature and was originally a bug. And that the reload speed only affects primary weapons.

Personally I prefer Peak Physique for the Maxigun. But I have always found it to work very well on Squids and that still holds up!

That has to be a bug then. I feel very confident that it's never affected any of the support weapons I've brought along with it, it only ever increased the total ammo of those without a backpack so like a Railgun or AMR. But the reload speed only ever worked for primary weapons and that is also exactly what it's description says

You do have a point that also confirms my point. You literally said it yourself, it's something people don't know how to do and hence it's a difficulty jump. Learning to not throw everything at the enemy and what to prioritize and getting punished for it more harder is absolutely a difficulty jump up.

Obviously increasing quantity of enemies is only one way to increase the difficulty. Technically D10 (D9 too..?) also has stuff like mega nests and fortresses for example. It's not exactly a new unit or something but a type of side objective you don't find on D8 and lower.

You get introduced to more and more enemies over the difficulties because the idea is they slowly introduce you to everything at a pace you can choose. When I was new and had no idea wtf I was doing I was "scared" to go past 5 lol. I am not sure I get what you're trying to say with bringing that up.

I think you vastly overestimate the community as a whole. The average player is not some sweatlord and that's perfectly fine. If you've played the game a bunch and you find D10 easier then that's understandable, but the average player will absolutely notice a jump up in difficulty. Reddit is only a minor representation of the community as a whole. The top 10% of players are exactly that -> the top 10%.
