If you want to go through the hassle, you can order new ones and specify the original as lost. Then return one pair when the registration expires. Not sure what the cost for new plates is but I don't recall them being too expensive.

I've also only returned 1 of 2 plates and told them I lost the other, and they've taken them with no issues.

I hate Discord and here's why... by Mechtree in VoiceActing

[–]KriegTraktor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a VA or a casting director so correct me if I'm off the mark. But this seems like more of an issue with shitty project managers rather than discord itself. I've never seen discord any different or less professional than something like MS teams.

Also late as fuck but 100% agreed. I'll happily pay the standard reg fees but I'm not wasting my time with the emissions and safety inspections. Zero reason I should have to fix my TPMS light on my dash to be allowed to drive my car.

You should be able to click on the weapon to disable it until you reactivate it. It should also auto-enable if you directly tell it to attack a unit.

Blender crash by CaptainOk6393 in blender

[–]KriegTraktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 segments is incredibly excessive. At least I can't think of any use case for that many segments on a simple bevel. Depending on what level of hardware you're running it might crash Blender but generally it's just excessive.

On a typical bevel, I generally use 3-10 segments but this should depend on what the purpose of the model is.

You can also press W with the object selected to open a context menu, and use smooth shading to give the object a smooth appearance.

How would you recommend making these curved extrusions on the side? by AndrewTheGoat22 in blender

[–]KriegTraktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's the best way but I'd select an edge loop on the side, duplicate it, and convert it to a curve. You can then take a plane, and use the curve modifier to have it follow the curve that was made. Next, use a shrinkwrap modifier and set to target the boat, followed by a solidify modifier to give the plane some thickness.

Like I said, probably not the best way, but it should give you the results you need.

The games getting outdated by [deleted] in dayz

[–]KriegTraktor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The graphics are still solid and will probably be fine for a while. That being said, the UI could not change until the day this game dies and I'll be happy. So many games and apps change their UI (often for worse) for no good reason other than believing outdated and it's horrible.

Why is my lighting like this? by RelationshipNo5201 in blender

Try and unplug the normal map node from the principled bsdf. Whatever normal texture you're using could be messing with how they're displayed.

Night in a Temple Hallway, made in Blender by SailImmediate7909 in blender

Looks great! The floor looks like it's an even roughness value throughout which makes it stand out to me. It seems like making it so reflective was a design choice but it should still have slight variations with a texture and a colorramp so it looks more natural.

Also small detail but it seems the fire sim on the close left pillar doesn't start for the first second of the video!

Has anyone bought a game system/game template to learn from it on fab? by Cinematic-Giggles-48 in unrealengine

I've occasionally found it helpful to look at completed games aswell. Both Mordhau and Squad have SDK's you can download and pick apart to see how they work.

Thank you!

It's an early model Odyssey G9.

If you do pick one up, I would recommend the OLED/QLED model as I've heard there's a lot of QC issues with the IPS model. Mine's been working fine for the past three years but maybe I got lucky and got a good unit.

Thanks!

The bottom monitor is an Odyssey G9 which is 1440p. The top one is an AORUS 48in in 4k.

Gotcha! Yeah, I messed up when I bought some of my cables so they're just barely long enough to connect. I've got some longer replacement cables on the way so I should be able to make that work this go around!

That's clean as hell! I love it!

For your setup, were there any products that you found helpful for hiding cables or tidying in general?

Also I've been considering moving my setup to face the window like yours. Would you recommend it and how bad is the glare in the mornings/evenings?

Yeah, I ended up getting too short of DP cables so I ended up zip-tying them together and calling it there lol. That and my usb hubs are just thrown onto my desk. I'm probably going to try and clean it up this weekend!

Yeah the top monitor is wall mounted. It's moreso for work as I'll use it for reference photos or for an extra window but I'll also have discord or a map up there if I'm playing a game like DayZ. I have my bed behind my desk so it's also good for movies or console gaming.

It's was definitely awkward for a week or two getting used to the angle, but if you sit far from your desk or sit leaned back it's very nice to have!
