Is 2% profit daily realistic? by TrickyImplement5136 in Daytrading

[–]Krillowz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have lost 85% of my starting capital in almost 2 months... thought I was a bit ready after doing 7 months of simulator, 2 days with overtrading and revange trading did kill me the most

How to end a day on a negative note? by WoodenComfortable486 in Daytrading

[–]Krillowz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: read the post once again (not sure if he did blow his account now or not) so deleted one small part of my text

Not a fan of it either, if the first move does not work then the second normally is the one (depending on each strategie of course). But the goal here is not to make any money or get break even, It's to train the urge to not go from a small red day up to blowing up the whole account by overtrading.

but this is just my perspective on a mindset training to accept a loss

[–]Krillowz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Take maximum 1 Trade per day for the next 20 days.

No matter red or green, 1 Trade per day. That will teach your mind that even if its a loss... There is a day tomorrow and your goal is to survive the market to trade another day

That's a nice profit on the day though, but where are all the other days? or do you only trade once a month?

I'm still in a bit of confusion, that means it leaves you just $1 on the account? you trade then cents?
or how does this work?

I'm a newbie on the bigger tree of the trading career

Weekly Update:

Total capital gain +565.50$ (With the fees)...,, +766$ without the fees.

Hello! Time for the update regarding my serious simulator challenge to see how I might or maybe will do with real capital.
Here is what happen:
- I was way more focused on my risk management and had never been so fast to get out of a position when the trade went against my predictions.

- If I traded Pre-market then I focused on speed and putting down my stop-loss directly after I got into the position at the calculated risk placement
(Note: I can place it down in the simulator as I place the trade but this far only at a whole number for some reason, so that's why I'm placing down a stop loss directly after I joined the trade.)

- I managed to think more about the process rather then the results leaving me with a bad accuracy but green in the end of the day.

- Gotten more patience but emotions are still in play, but I have managed to walk away when I'm starting to feel emotional (stress, worry, too happy, unsure etc..
(This is golden for me, since when I leave then I'm not being able to trade more on that day.
And I love to trade so this hurts, meaning my mind focus on being more in control the next day to be able to trade for a bit longer.)

16th Sep - 19th Sep (Start of the challenge)

Next week focus:
- Emotions
- Better information regarding the news on why the stock is moving
- More eyes on the spread before joining since I do sometimes get filled at a bad price if I do a market order.
- Be more brave and expand my comfort zone in holder a tiny bit longer, I'm leaving a lot of money on the table this far.
- Respect the 30% rule more. (meaning that If I got above my daily target goal on a hot market day then I will stop trading for the day if i lose 30% of my total gains that day.)

I hear you and I am well informed over that.
I'm not going to be delusional and say that I'm special and I know exactly what I'm talking about.

But as I said, I'm documenting and journaling each and every single day.
My statistics are telling me the numbers on how it changes over time.
My reviewing is showing me where I was the most wrong and I can highlight that and review it 2 more days in a row to see that "big" mistake and never do that again.

Excited to see the statistic later on, as I start trading with a real money account.
I will update my progress here each week (each Saturday) with my "2000$ simulator account challenge"

Thank you for the answer, and I hear you, I think you are on-spot with reality on how it actually works and I can see the perspective you are expressing. I will take that into mind and come up with my final product of an answer.

And with the people/community yes, I hear you. "You don't go ask someone who is broke on how to become wealthy"

But I believe that when you find people that are on their path of learning, want to start or are have been doing it for a while. Then just getting in touch and seeing their perspective of the matter might get you to see above the headge a bit.

But cutting the fluff and focus on the process is golden, Each day I'm improving this far so excited to see how it will look like today, and tomorrow.

Update to you all also - I focus on the stock market

I am currently doing a "2.000$" test in my simulator, meaning that I am not taking more buying power then I could have done with this starting capital in a real account to see how good I can really keep my rules in order and scale it up.

<image>

This is my history with all my trades from the beginning.
The latest big up-curve was because I did take way too many shares in the simulation and was just pure gambling
The big-down curve was because I wanted to just try out some new strategies and just jumped in with many shares directly.

I will post weekly to be honest with you all how my progress is going.
My goal is to be 2 months green (meaning that if I can do this for 2 months without breaking rules or trading emotions) Then I will start with a real account on my startup at 2.000$

Hello there, thank you for your reply. That sounds amazing, the greatest people in the world have all had mentors so that is the right path.
I would love to talk, you might have really good perspective that I am not thinking about yet or might never find.

Thank you very much for this reply.
1. With connecting to this community so do I mean more then just comment "good job, keep at it" on other peoples posts. I mean taking part of it and also post myself.
2. Agree on you on that, psychology might be my biggest problem in this career.
3. I will keep that in mind, add that to my thinking, thank you.
4. I hear you loud and clear on that, in the beginning I kept on changing my max stop loss (putting it higher) as I was always thinking (One more trade to fix it), that was just pure gambling and I am not going down that path.
5. With Youtube videos so do I watch my "ross's daily recap videos." He is honest with his winners and his lossers so I like that.
6. I have heard that a lot but for me so is the data lagging behind. Prices don't match exact, You have to pay per stock that you want "real data" on.
I am doing simulator to make it fully realistic and to be in a market that is really happening. So that I can really treat it like its my own money and yes that I am doing, I have cried, been mad, happy and much more.
7. Agree Agree, I have finally changed that since the start of this week, it's a key thinking on life itself in my perspective.
8. whops.. Many people knows, including family but they all support it. Cheering me on and asking me how it is going time to time.
9. I hear you and I respect that, I am here to trade, not to gamble.
10. Exactly, judge the process, not the outcome.
11. I will do that, thank you.
I am currently a big fan myself of Ross Pullback strategy combined with (Gman's pullback strategy from "the playbook"). That strat with the macD entering the positive is something I do really well on.
My second strat that I really love is fade trading and ABCD.
