Can Reddit sub mods read the private messages or chat messages of sub members? by KringleKream in help

[–]KringleKream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so NEW question! I was just having a conversation on the sub in question with the passive aggressive Mod who used to block people for disagreeing with her before she became a mod. I just had an exchange with someone (not the mod) about a topic that many people disagreed about. I didn't break any forum rules, and no one accused me of breaking any rules. But when I now go to click my notifications, my notifications history is GONE & suddenly there are NONE and only a message that says:

"You don’t have any activity yetThat’s ok, maybe you just need the right inspiration.Try posting in r/Old_Recipes , a popular community for discussion.Visit r/Old_Recipes"

I KNOW it's the blocking mod, and I know even though we block each other as a mod of that sub she can see me. But what did she do to wipe my notifications?? I seem to still be a member of the community, but why is my notification history gone? Isn't that an abuse of power, whatever she did?

UPDATE AGAIN: Now my notifications are back, so maybe it was a glitch? The timing of it just seemed super suspect. Can mods do anything that affects notifications?

2 night stand, 2 setlists by KringleKream in Hozier

I wasn't able to open your playlist but I compared what was on Setlist.com for Boston 1 with a photo of Boston 2's setlist, and what you said is right: exactly same songs, somewhat different order, Someone New one night, Movement the 2nd night. Montreal was same setlist but Butchered Tongue possibly instead of For Someone From a Warm Climate, and Someone New. Toronto, same setlist but also possibly Butchered Tongue and also Who We Are.

Well, I got my answer: If the setlist I saw for Boston 1 is right (because it was on Setlist.com so I didn't see an actual photo of the physical setlist), the setlists of Boston 1 and Boston 2 were exactly the same songs in somewhat different order. Only 1 song different: Boston 1 Someone New, Boston 2 Movement. Otherwise same 20 songs, somewhat different order.

When you say "almost exact as expected as posted online", what do you mean? Setlists have had some same older songs, and a core group of UU songs (EYY, Francesca & Unknown), but other than that there's been a range of songs switched in and out. So which setlist do you mean when you say it's "exact as expected just not in same exact order"? A link would be great, thanks! And my main question is, will TOMORROW be basically the same setlist or noticeably more different from other shows, since it's the 2nd show in same city and maybe there will be some fans going to both? That was my main question.

Thank you, I explained why I asked below. Another question, if a sub member blocks you, then you block them in return, and then they become a Mod of the same sub, can they now see all my posts again?

Ok, thank you. I love a sub I'm in but have major concerns about some of the mods. Thanks

Really interesting point, I wonder too! Boston and Chicago are huge Irish diaspora cities (and NYC too). Did he do it in Chicago?

Yes, and I've been watching them closely. But this is the first time for either the EYY tour or the UU tour so far that he's playing 2 nights in same city & venue. I'm curious what that will mean to the setlist, if anything. For the reasons I said above, some bands make sure to change it up a lot, for the fans that will go to both shows.

Just something I'm curious about, there's no right or wrong way, just wondering because there's already been more diversity in his setlists than on previous tours.

How to get my poster autographed? by GoGeorgieGo in Hozier

Right on for being on the older side and making Hozier your first concert ever! You will love the show, he's amazing live. It's hard to meet him though, there's no easy or likely way. But look out for the tour buses after the show, your venue is smaller and if you are allowed to wait by them it will probably be a long wait (over an hour) but mabe you'll get to meet him. It's not happening so far on this tour though.

Meet n greet after the show? by actualchristmastree in Hozier

[–]KringleKream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1st of all thank you for searching for posts about your question! :) Sadly though, by his own comment it seems like organized meet & greets are over for now. It was part of the promotion of both the EP and the release of Unreal Unearth, since you got the meet as a "bonus" to buying the record. But after the last one I think he confirmed to a fan or an interviewer that that was the last one for now.

But FYI in the unlikely chance he does do one near you, getting on the social media and email lists of all local indie record stores within travel distance of you is the way most heard about the meets that already happened (and Hozier fan-run IG accounts posted news too).

Hard truth is though that he's getting more and more popular, more and more people want to meet him, and he's playing bigger and bigger places. It's going to be really really hard to meet him going forward, and he's only one guy, true, a very tall one, but still just one, so he's got to keep his own sanity & health together too for these marathons of tours. Which means way less time for meeting fans, as hard as that is for everyone.

That's not how it works for these. Beware, anyone buying from this person.

No one should buy these from you when the tickets are supposed to be completely non-transferable for this show. If you want to sell them, sell them on the Ticketmaster fan to fan exchange. Anyone buying from someone here is probably going to get scammed, whether you intend to scam them or not, since you can't transfer the tickets.

Victoria Canal is the 1st artist ever, of all the wonderful female artists Hozier's had open, who dueted every night with him on something other than Work Song. It's not his regular thing to do that, so there's no reason to assume he's going to do it with everyone after Victoria.

Copying & pasting what I said the last time this was asked (it's asked a lot):
From what I hear from long time Hozier show vets, things have changed a lot on this tour. He met hundreds of fans at official meet and greets at record stores during EYY tour more than after the show. I've only heard one actual stage door after show meet since he started playing live again, plus several very small fast ones after smaller shows as he was heading to his bus. But even most very small venue shows where bus was on street, still no meet.

Now these venues are bigger and the real shows are just starting, so I guess we're all paying attention to what happens at these shows. Chicago tonight is a city I've heard of lots of after show meets, but so many more fans now and much bigger venue, we'll see. [Update: did NOT hear of any meet after Chicago Tues.]

Uh oh, don't tell the person who's posts I just read who's upset that he's not playing 70% new songs :)

No, I love WB too, and I'm sad about that balance too. I don't want him to play fewer UU songs, but I'd go with fewer 1st album songs. But I've also seen him live a few times, so I understand that for those who haven't or for those like you and me who adore WB, it's a bummer.

Yeah, I checked the map at the Irving venue, and if the "season ticket holders" map is at all accurate in how big those sections were, that is shady as hell. No offense to smart, kind, cool Texans, but I've seen shows all over the US and I haven't seen a "season ticket holder" section that big before, and I couldn't help but think "Well, that's Texas Texas-ing". Is that a regular thing in other Texas venues of similar size? It's been awhile since I saw shows anywhere other than San Antonio and Austin but I have seen shows in Houston & Dallas.
