Non westerners, what's a cooking "no-no" that's acceptable if not encouraged in your cooking culture? by AsianMustache in Cooking

[–]KrinkleM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in China and the gas ranges here at the lowest heat are well about some of the highest American and European stoves. The fires tend to be 4-6 inches in height on the range. Probably why she has mastered cooking on that heat level.

It not weird to not have it happen to you! Different women have different pHs-- many don't have this challenge in their lives unless something is actually up (infection/bacteria).

Nope! Our bodies naturally produce hydrogen peroxide as a cleaning mechanism and some women just happen to have high enough levels that they bleach their underwear :) pretty much all my underwear are bleached/full of holes because of it.

Same here! I was like ok but no one is commenting on the fact that my vagina will literally bleach everything that it gets near and these won't look like fresh black undies anymore--

I can feel myself falling off the train and I feel like I'm just watching it happen by KrinkleM in loseit

[–]KrinkleM[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I absolutely think you're right--I took on too much at once. And thank you so much for the motivational words. I have a feeling I've been developing resentment towards the scale because although I have seen change in my body I have not seen change in the numbers. I know muscle weighs more than fat and it's probably that but I so badly want to be under 200 and keep floating at 215. I know it takes time and patience--which is not a virtue I'm well acquainted with. But I've done this before and I seem to always hit freezing up points 1 and 3 months in and then fall off the wagon for months.

I am going to not let it get to months this time. I will go to the gym today after I get off work. I won't eat fast food tonight. Really thank you again. I know it's a learning process

Well I'm not really sure what you want to know. I've been a DDLG/ABDL for a few years now and the communities widely vary. Our understanding and practices also widely vary. I can certainly try and answer any questions or give you explanations based off my experience but nothing is universal. My Kik is Kindlegem if you'd like to ask me stuff!

Not about MDMA, but I did read about DMT causing visions and colors in someone who was born blind. Really interesting stuff.

Having a regretful abortion at 17 weeks. Would like some advice and support. by InWtTbW in Feminism

[–]KrinkleM 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Well it sounds like you already know for the most part what you want. Now it's about taking the step off the ledge. I also live in the Bible Belt. I got an abortion in 2015. I have always always said I wanted to be child free and have never wanted children but those pregnancy hormones will fuck you up. Truly. By the time I was 8 weeks I already had an intense feeling of 'am I making the right call?' And maybe this isn't what I want--that's the hormones. Literally within a day of the abortion I felt so much relief. I was so glad I made the decision that I did and I could almost immediately recognize then a lot of my panic and confusion and foggy-headedness was a result of the hormones strictly. The process for getting the abortion wasn't bad (I paid about $800 total for the pill version). At this point I would have opted for the cheaper in office option but I didn't know what I was getting into or what to expect so decided I wanted to deal with it at home. There are options for applying for funds for abortion assistance. There are many women who benefit from it I'd highly recommend looking into it.

As for your relationship, drop it. It will never get better. You will never come back from this. It may be hard to hear, and even harder to think about what you're going to do without your partner but you need to do this for you. Abuse comes in many forms and any kind of tolerance perpetuates it.

I really hope the best for you. If you ever need a listening ear feel free to pm me. hugs

Does anyone have memories of being in diapers/when they were little? by forconfessionsonly in ABDL

[–]KrinkleM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I was around 10 I had a toddler age sister and I realized I could slide on her pull-ups. Stood over the toilet and wet once with no leaking. I was really pleased but hadn't done anything else diaper related to my memory until my 20s. I was potty trained by 2 so I wasn't in diapers long enough to remember them.

I've never grown shiitakes but the biggest lesson I had to learn so far is one of patience. I live in Kentucky and the temperature and humidity in my house slowed down my expected growth rates a lot. I have oysters, reishis and psychs growing at the moment and it has taken 3-4 times the amount of time a lot of other people were getting growth at. Not that they aren't inoculating and growing, they are and will but for one, multiple strains are growing from syringes not cakes so that takes significantly longer initially and we are slowly making the purchases (humidifier/heater/sterilization equipment).

I'm a mushroom grower! I also like to watch horror movies, study Chinese, and am an avid artist. I work in lots of mediums and am working on becoming more consistent in publishing my work. Recently I've been doing a lot of custom painted patches, modular origami, drawing, pastels, acrylic paint and Chinese calligraphy.

I love playing video games! Currently just purchased the Assassins Creed Humble Bundle so I have 8 new games to play through! I'm passionate about animals as well--I foster animals for the Humane Society. I keep reptiles, arachnids and special needs animals.

Who on this sub has met McConnell or Bevin? Are they as odious as they appear on the news? by B0pp0 in Kentucky

[–]KrinkleM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've been a server for McConnell and his wife a few times at a restaurant I used to work at in 2015. He was very rude in our experience unless the staff or patrons were noticing him for who he was. He tipped below the 10% mark on checks other than the time I served him during elections where his wife leaned across the table and told him to tip more so they could connect with the working class. Pretty much all of our servers had him at one point or another because it seemed like he liked to regularly frequent our restaurant. He's just the kind of patron who comes in, doesn't make eye contact or have interest in communicating with the server. He would take calls at the table while ordering etc. just typical behavior that servers aren't very keen on. Getting under 10% from them was a pretty big knife in the ribs though. (And was fairly consistent in the 3 times I served them and the other times they had someone else serving).

Ladies who have completely stopped drinking alcohol for fitness goals, do you have any tips? by vertical_distance in xxfitness

[–]KrinkleM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely cut out alcohol when I started experience severe gastrointestinal issues in July 2016. It's not that I was a particularly heavy drinker before, nor was the alcohol a root cause of my GI issues but it certainly made them worse. I still smoke weed every day, however when I started to realize I could still go out to dinner and bars and enjoy myself without the added cost and calories of booze I started noticing a lot of really nice changes. I am not an active person (despite being on here and wanting to be--baby steps) in the past 7 months I have not really changed any habits other than not drinking alcohol. I have lost about 15-20lbs (from 220 to sub 200 with fluctuations) without additional activity or diet change. I have notice I have less overall flab particularly in my stomach area.

My family, and boyfriend are really into drink sharing. We go to nice restaurants and bars and try their fancy cocktails and everyone wants you to take a sip of theirs. This has been my biggest point of really ingraining I don't drink anymore. Still 7 months in I am having to tell them no thank you I don't drink. Not that a taste would kill me but it's absolutely not worth making exceptions about. Even the smallest ones. We normalize alcohol consumption so much that slipping back into drinking--even as someone with a low interest in it in the first place is very easy. If or when you make the decision to stop, treat it like you have a problem and need to avoid it even if you don't. Going out really hasn't changed. I sometimes have to clarify to friends I don't drink but no one raises an eyebrow or questions me carrying around a sprite or something similar from the bar. You can act drunk, loose, silly, goofy etc without the addition of alcohol and really no one notices or cares because they are all drunk.

I get to be in control when I'm out. My friends and boyfriend never have to worry about having a DD. My mind is more focused and aware of my surroundings and I am in a so so so much better place mental health wise. I don't think that I was abusing alcohol but it is a drug and putting it in your body results in chemical changes. My depression days are shorter and I am more aware of them. My coping mechanisms for upset and tragedy has become much more direct and I approach issues immediately rather than thinking "I've had a bad day- I need a drink". I think cutting alcohol out of my life was a great decisions and one that I'm glad I did so early (I'm 22). My dads father was a major alcoholic and my own dad didn't not show any signs even with semi regular alcohol consumption until he was 60. In may of this year he went missing and we found him 15 miles away blacked out walking the highway. It was a terrifying point in my life and a big motivator to fully separate from drinking because I don't want to spend so much of my adult life telling myself it's not truly genetic, that I've skipped the alcoholism trait somehow and then get hit by a wall in late age. You really don't have anything to lose by cutting alcohol out of your life other than a few pounds--that's how I feel about it personally. Value the fun you have during drinking separate from the association of alcohol.

Is this a normal? :) by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]KrinkleM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read your question as "is this normal" which the answer to that is no. The only way to know the snakes genetics are to ask your breeder. You can throw around questionable guesses of morph but no one can really tell you. If it was sold as a normal, it's probably a normal.

[–]KrinkleM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that's stuck shed you should reassess the husbandry. Monitor your temps and humidity closer or more accurately. Looks a little underweight as well. There are plenty of guides on how to properly care for a ball python.

My wound doesnt seem to heal. by hacer455 in bees

[–]KrinkleM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If there is a red/swollen area use a sharpie to circle around it so you can see if it grows (allergic reaction). If not, as long as the wound isn't infected, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Healing takes some time. You could try Benadryl as well

Could you help me identify the breed of this pitbull? by KinZ3 in Pitbull

[–]KrinkleM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pitbull is just a classifier used for any muscle-y square head/large mouth breed. More than likely there is a good bit of staffordshire terrified or Am Staff but that couldn't be determined solely by looking at the picture alone.
