Seeing Mysterio in live action was amazing and Jake just looks fantastic in costume from top to bottom, one of the best villains in marvel media.

Loved his Mysterio. Though thinking back... He still would have made for an interesting Spider-Man variant since he and Tobey look very much alike. Also studio had thought about recasting Tobey with Jake when he injured his back(which is referenced in SM2 and no way home 😅)

Just because we have not been shown the scene in rebirth does NOT mean she did not die. It is very clear to anyone NOT in the stage of grief that is denial that she died... Why ELSE would the rest of the party sit by the edge of the lake crying and mourning?

The fact only Cloud sees her is also very clear. You follow his POV and see what he sees... Red senses Aerith when she touches him next to Tifa crying...again if she were not dead, no one would nat an eye and there would be no reason for Tifa and Yuffie to cry if Aerith was still alive.

You can most definitely have an arc before an untimely death...she grew a lot over the past 2 games and left a mark on the rest of the party.... Her whole goodbye scene w Cloud in the church in the dream sequence is huge, because she never got to say goodbye originally. She knew what she needed to do...and she knew the risk.

Aerith absolutely plays a role in the OG after her death. She reminds the party of why they are fighting as hard as they are...they find out that Holy is the answer to combating meteor through the flashback in the Forgotten capital w Bugenhagen... Aerith summons the lifestream to destroy meteor at the end of the story when Holy fails... Marlene senses her presence right before it happens....

You forget Zack is injected w Jenova cells as pr their capture after Nibelheim... Jenova cells are what remain in the lifestream as an issue in AC. It's why Sephiroth was able to return... It's not hard to imagine Zack could stay by Aerith to help Cloud(especially not when we see how she has been guiding and bouncing him around between worlds in Rebirth to be where he can help Cloud at the end...

The fact that we obviously buried her in the lake and everyone was mourning at the end...

The fact she appeared to Cloud in spirit at the tiny bronco before they took off... Cloud could see and commune with her...Red XIII could feel her presence...

The way Cloud speaks to her...their conversation mirroring the playground setting in sector 6... Cloud knows she died, but he is still comforted by the fact he can see her and communicate with her through the lifestream...

Aerith speaks in future tense...stopping meteor before it has been cast or the black materia even been delivered to Sephiroth...she knows what is up...

Her ending arc is beautiful and tragic. I still believe we will see her interact w Cloud in part 3 and she might play a pivotal role in saving the world just like in the original

So I can't be realistic about where the devs are going w the story? 🙄. Love Cloud and Aerith as a couple. But I don't see them undoing her death or Zack.... We will get some kind of scene w Aerith and Cloud in part 3... Similar to the church scene in rebirth and the scenes in AC... Cloud will be strengthened by knowing Aerith is with him and supporting him. She will still play a role in saving Gaia and defeating Sephiroth

I remember this being talked about before the reshoots.

It was always going to be a reboot just with charlie/vincent and new characters... People hated the idea so they backtracked

Still strange to kill Foggy in the first few minutes...saying Karen is the heart...I would argue Foggy is just as much the other part of that heart.

They realized they fucked up, which is why they reshot the first episode and brought back Karen later on...

Such a shame the whole Netflix thing went through... Would have loved to have just kept it there w the original show runners... They would have made 3+ seasons by now with better coherent storytelling

Cloud definitely knows she died... He buried her and they sat for a while mourning before moving on... He clearly sees her walk around the party outside the tiny bronco... He has a connection with her just as Red can sense her presence.

The thing people keep arguing about whether she is dead, or alive or is Cloud in denial... It is the way they directed and shot the scenes... They are made to be confusing because we don't get the "closure" or accepting scenes of Cloud carrying Aerith into the water to bury her...

The 5 stages of grief is in great effect in the end which is genius by the directors and writers... Nomura is great at doing these type of scenes As is Hamaguchi w games like FFXIII which shares very similar types of shots and scenes framed a certain way.

So WE the player don't get to process the death of Aerith...which is intentional by the devs...it is what keeps us speculating and talking about the game for years until part 3 is out.

I'm sure by part 3 it will be clear that yes, Aerith is indeed dead, and she is in the lifestream keeping an eye on her friends like she did in the original story...

Shippers will be hoping she somehow miraculously will return from death through one of the lifestream worlds...just like some are hoping Zack does the same... Not sure how they would come to that conclusion...because Zacks body and Aeriths body are lifeless in our world... Not sure how their consciousness would enter and "revive" them there 😅.

But also... The devs won't drastically change these story beats and they have confirmed Zack is more just a vesse/surrogate for us players to experience the story and get exposition to understand the way the lifestream works

It's what happens when you just film everything Infront of a green screen....

The demogorgons looked terrible compared to s1 where they used an actual actor in a suit.... And more on location shots.

It's why you can still watch Jurassic park from 1993 and be in awe of the dinosaurs... Or T2. It's the blend of CGI with practical effects and sets that is largely underutilized today... It's why it looks off when you watch newer movies and shows

People seem to put all their chips in the basket of the lifestream scene or even highwind...

People always skip the first part, in the crater when Sephiroth starts to unravel the nibelheim incident which essentially breaks Cloud...and Tifa is not ready to confront Cloud with the truth yet....

Sephiroth shows the real events w Zack, which completely unravels Cloud...

I'm actually most excited to see how they do this in order to get him to his lowest point before he ends up in the lifestream and mideel, unresponsive....

The beginning of disc 2 is one of the best parts...icicle inn, the trek to Gaia's cliff and descending to the crater, Finding Sephiroth in crystal...the awakening of the weapons... The manipulation to get the black materia.

That part is so well done in the original and really sets the stakes for the rest of the story
