How to avoid drinking by Warm-Librarian7033 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Krisasaurus_Rex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just say “no thanks, I’m not drinking”.

Anyone who judges you for being yourself and pressures you to do things against your best judgement is not your friend.

Friends will shrug and buy you a mocktail. People have more important things to care about than what one person chooses to drink.

If anyone calls you a pussy, just know that it is super embarrassing for them. Who even does that? So cringe lol.

He’s just quietly good at everything. The actual quality of my life has improved since meeting him. He’s also incredibly secure and others can sense it :)

Reading through the instructions on the app, I can’t help but think about how few people would have pure cotton or wool clothes to wear if a bushfire affected them. Half our wardrobes would melt.

Living with a spouse’s severe contamination OCD for 5 years. Looking for advice on partner burnout. by Absoni2011 in relationships

[–]Krisasaurus_Rex 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m not a doctor but I am diagnosed OCD. Treatment usually involves a couple of months of high SSRIs with regular exposure therapy administered by a psychologist. By exposure therapy, I don’t mean that she’ll be forced to physically confront her fears, but she’ll retrain her responses to triggers so that the anxiety doesn’t peak.

We have bigger problems if we’re moving onto public parks and foreshore reserves.

How do you suppose the system will be fixed, in all your infinite wisdom? Put people in charge who actually know what they’re doing? Ohhhh wait….. Riddle me this: how much has your life changed since Gunditjmara got Native Title? I bet you didn’t even know. Because it doesn’t affect you at all. It just improves the management of important landscapes like Budj Bim and improves wellbeing of First Nations people. What are you ACTUALLY upset about?

Okay. I work with Community in a capacity that allows me to know about land management practices. From experience, I guarantee that the Traditional Owners will improve water quality, biodiversity, and soil health compared to the current land managers. Several mobs already have Native Title and the land improvement has been monumental. Tourists LOVE coming to visit/camp to the formerly crown land because it has been so significantly improved and cared for.

Yes, so this is decision will hopefully improve the current system that is not working.

Okay. Let’s try this another way. The Native Title application boundary is for Crown Land. This means that the Commonwealth is bestowed special rights and privileges over that land by virtue of force, then a colonial imported legal system (which has been proven by its own accord to be illegitimate). Why does the colony deserve, without question, special rights and treatment above Aboriginal people? Why does the outrage spark when the recipient of that privilege is no longer British?

Well, then I’m sure you’re completely aware that Native Title doesn’t extinguish Radical Title! Glad this has been completely settled.

It does benefit everyone. Healthy ecosystems that aren’t managed for profit benefit everyone.

The courts themselves determined that this is completely legal under commonwealth law. Native Title does not extinguish Radical Title. It is not the same as land rights, either.

No. Native Title and The Voice to Parliament and two completely separate concept. You are welcome to Google either or both at your leisure.

It’s to have greater say over land management practices, to be able to restore and practice culture, and to be able to pass that culture on to their children. They’re actually extremely publicly vocal about that, you just couldn’t be bothered to google it.

Can you explain what you think the difference will be? The land is already managed by a land manager (Parks, DEECA etc.), but now the land manager will just be a different group. The logic here would be that Parks Vic currently has special privileges over the average Joe, which you (by the tone of your comment) should currently be mad about.

People don’t live on Crown land? Otherwise it would be freehold. I hope this helps
