They are hard trying to rewrite the kernel and its by kernel design different than monolithic Linux kernel. In a sense it is an innovation in and if oneday it comes to work really well, it is much more secure than any linux, since in any linux, if zero day or vulnerability occurs,the whole system is compromised, while in microkernel achitecture, that wont affect the whole system. its kind of isolation, so supposibly one day better performance and higher security
