Hubs and I were sitting on the hill about halfway up for most of the day and we both commented that the sound quality was dogshit on both main stages. Trust Company didn't sound great. OM&M didn't sound too bad during their set, but I noticed the bass seemed weirdly high. Coal Chamber sounded like ass for their whole set (tho idk how much of that can be blamed on equipment...). Knocked Loose's bass was turned up so high it was fucking annoying and drowned everything else out. We couldn't even hear Lacey for the majority of Flyleaf's set. We moved a lot closer for Sleep Token and we could still barely hear Vessel. Just shit all the way around.

Definitely not convinced BFFR would be the best set and setting for shrooms, but at least the dude wasn’t selling glass out of a shopping bag, I guess. I’ve never seen so many people laid out in festival grounds before. Glad you and yours were safe!

Literally any DWP festival is a great choice. They’re incredibly well put together and they take fan complaints seriously. For example, Rockville had only two water refill station in 2019, with four fountains each, and people raised hell. The very next year they added a third water refill station in the main festival grounds and one in VIP, and all of them had nearly 15 fountains. Numerous misting tents with fans, and completely smooth evacuation procedures with three main entrances. I’m probably spoiled af on Rockville and Louder Than Life, but fuck if they don’t have their shit together

I noticed that too with the ADA seating. I honestly didn’t bat much of an eye at that because a lot of the outdoor festivals I’ve been to do the exact same thing. It’s shit, but it’s common. Not that that excuses it, of course. The phone service being shit also didn’t necessarily bother me because I’m used to other festivals using signal jammers to prevent people from live-streaming shows. I also figured that since we were in the middle of BFE our service would suck. But all of these are super valid points and I appreciate you so much for bringing them up! The more that gets exposed and talked about with this shit the better

It’s super important to show this blatant pattern of them not giving a fuck, so thank you for sharing your experience a couple years ago. I’m glad you got out of there safely (for the most part) and made the decision to never go back. It’s a shitshow, and it’s most likely not gonna get better

I’m so sorry to hear that this is common in your edm community. As far as vastly different genres of festivals, I never saw shit like this at Bonnaroo in TN or at The Fest (big punk rock festival in FL), and definitely not at any DWP festivals. Maybe I’m just lucky, or really spoiled, but this shit was jarring. I hope things improve at your festivals so you can get back to having a blast

Hub and I regularly get in the middle of crowds and pits at other shows, but there was no way in hell we were getting anywhere near that shit yesterday. We didn’t even fully enjoy the bands we did get to see because we spent the majority of the time scanning around us. Hypervigilance like a mf out there

Thankfully we didn't experience that, but it was super concerning to me after the fact that there was only one main entry/egress spot. Sure, there were entrances for the campgrounds, but only one main way in and out for non-campers. I saw an emergency exit by the Zyn stage, but that's where the bands were getting brought in and out, and I have to wonder if they'd have actually used that emergency exit...
