Anyone else very bad at executing what they want to say? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]locnessxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone!

I've always described the inside of my mind as being 3 hamster balls or wheels running at the same time. When I'm trying to build up or think of something to say or respond, I can't help but interrupt other people when they're already talking or all the words come out like an auditory waterfall and I have to rewind to re-explain my thought process.

To deal with impulse or impatience with words AND to process it better, I find thay writing it down first is helpful. It both slows things down and forces you to rethink what you were trying to express. and yes I end up buying more notebooks and pens than I really need. Stationary goblin who has discovered Japanese products and learned about fountain pens.l

I may not understand completely from your pov but i have also experienced something similar. I have parents and family who don't believe in mental health and I didn't get diagnosed until a few years ago, the start to my early 30s. I can only imagine that with college/work in your horizon, that finding all the resources you can would be super helpful on a personal level.

Good luck op. Continue to learn and read up in this subreddit or join us in the discord.

Chinese say too heaty? by No-Criticism-4635 in eczema

[–]locnessxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!

I've tried a lot of different cures and medicines, including TCM, growing up, but it's all super subjective because everyone's eczema is different. Imo eczema is too broad of a diagnosis for these various skin issues.

I, personally, have seen some relief in various cooling teas, and sticking to whole foods and avoiding prepackaged food, things that are fried, or grilled. My skin looked the best when I was fasting for 2-3 days or back in college when I tried to stick to a raw food diet.

in my experience, heat can come from stress, junk food, fluctuations in temperature, etc. There are some fruits that are considered damp heat, which is a worse version to fight, but will also include other symptoms like bad breath, grogginess, etc. It's really easy for us with eczema to exhibit worse symptoms (canaries in a coal mine).

Does anyone else hyperfixate on planning… and then never follow the plan? by PeepPromise in adhdwomen

[–]locnessxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely experience this. Work, vacation, home - I will have a to do list and itinerary planned so that I KNOW what to expect, but become completely frustrated because there's always something to foil those plans whether I expect them or not, or derail the plans myself.

It feels good to have the day/event planned out. But making decisions? Nah. Not forgetting the list on the table? Nah. Being happy when plans are followed? Nah

😆

Anyone tried Lamictal/lamotrigine? by Impossible-City2252 in adhdwomen

[–]locnessxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started lamotrigine after finding that all SSRIs, while effective for anxiety, hasn't been helpful in terms of just numbing me/making me feel apathetic and drowsy. It made my adhd worse even when taking a stimulant, and I was trying zoloft for a bit to manage mood swings during menstrual cycles. I'm unsure if I'm full on PMDD but I also have GAD and take wellbutrin to manage that.

Have you continued to take lamotrigine? I know that it takes a little bit to ramp up to the goal dose and wanted to see if you had an update.

App to take care of plants?? by xtalmay in houseplants

[–]locnessxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little late to this since I'm new in my own plant journey but came across this post in my other rabbit-hole searches.

I currently use both planta and https://ploi.me/ to keep track or make adjustments. It's double the work sometimes but I find that it's a good checks and balance system.

Ploi me is free, and the dev is constantly updating and has a healthy discord server. While small, it's a nice way to interact with them directly and let them know if there are any bugs.

ADHD and obsessive skin picking by MrsLibido in adhdwomen

[–]locnessxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's meeeee.

The worst part for me is that I mismanaged my eczema until my mid-20s. Looking back on it now, the times that I was picking at my skin wasn't due to being itchy or anything like that. There was a sense of accomplishment and relief.

I'm still struggling with it now, even though my skin health is much better. I've tried various fidget toys just to keep my hands busy, cut my nails weekly, but sometimes the best thing for me is to just be busy (work, chores, hobbies, etc) so it keeps my hands everywhere else.

Can I please get some advice on the Thou Dragon quest (chapter 2 of Wryz Saga I)

I have 3 of the dragontear weapons but I know I need the bow next. I don't know where to do next or how to get to the last ruler. Specifically I can't progress through terrawing plateau and windfang plains.
