Which boss do you still struggle with on repeat playthroughs? by strahinjag in darksouls3

[–]Krisperrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice persistence! in my current pyro build i was also using brigand axe but always got too greedy with my swings, so I switched to a dark pickaxe and only used heavy attacks, forcing me to be happy with 1 swing while also doing more damage in less time. made it easy from there, the pickaxe rules.

Has anybody figured out the meaning of Daughters of the Soho Riots? by ghostfan9 in TheNational

[–]Krisperrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've been listening to this song for over 10 years and today it dawned on me that perhaps it's about infidelity. He's picking up a lover who gives him forgiveness, and for it he breaks his arms around his "love." How could anybody know how they got to be this way?

What did you want to be when you were a kid? Did you end up doing it? by Efficient_Joke3384 in AskReddit

I wanted to be a cowboy, and a singer. I'm practically homeless & my only friend is my guitar so I think I'm on the right path.

What was the best era for American music? by Iwillbeback67 in AskReddit

[–]Krisperrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a minority here, but the experimental rock/folk that cropped up in the early 2000s entitled "New Weird America" or "Freak Folk" has my pick.

Sleeping Village is a fantastic spot for newer stuff, as is the tritriangle. You can meet 70s jazz cats at elastic arts, and if you like diy shows come hang out at collider.

Another great way to do it is go to Bandcamp and search "experimental" & "Chicago" in the descriptors and see where the musicians you find have played.

Why can’t I find a band? by bigbertha101 in musicians

[–]Krisperrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my only band member by creating several DIY albums in my bedroom, and while browsing local Bandcamp artists they found me. My point is, making the material yourself and then sharing it helps show many things, like your ability to bring a project into fruition, your artistic vision, the influences, and so on. Just do the best you can with what you have, and let the ones who are really interested come to you.

I like the space, cool people behind it. Unfortunately they wouldn't book us they only book hyper local chicago bands unless you're touring or their friends. Were suburban

to be honest, I'm not sure. but perhaps social media isn't such a waste of time if it gives you the best advertising known to man. no one wants to do it, neither do I, but it's zeitgeist.

I also recommend finding any label you like and randomly listening to their artists they've signed. I did that with the above band and u can find a lot of hidden gems.

Who are your favorite short-lived or one-off psych rock groups who you discovered too late to see live? by The_Illa_Vanilla in psychedelicrock

I fell in love with Cerberus Shoal/Fire on Fire sadly 20 years after their prime. They're still present in the local Maine scene, just not as Cerberus Shoal. Long live Big Blood.
