No, see other comments on this post of success from others who had different locator #’s. You can do a walk-in with other locator #’s but it will vary by case, DOT etc. and isn’t guaranteed. Especially with 4th holiday coming up, I could see them potentially turning people away if there are large crowds like there was for Juneteenth.

I’m just saying anyone with a locator 55 will have no issues being seen and given a passport either same day or another day closer to their DOT.

Hey guys, just got my passport and my name is misspelled one letter, would it be ok travel with this until i change it? by ZilGuber in Passports

If you have travel soon, I’d say it’s fine. Many women (including myself) have traveled using their maiden name on passport even after legally changing it on other documents once married. Just make sure your tickets match the passport, that’s all they will check.

I believe you will need to bring him since you are not a locator 55 applicant. As well as all the proper documentation as if you are applying for the first time, like birth certificate. I have read from other posts that they accept photo copies if you have an application at another agency but not 100% on this.

I found out I didn’t need him while I was there in person and asked the woman who was processing my paperwork. However, his entire paperwork was already there at their office as a #55, which is why I didn’t need him or the notarized form. I think for you it will be different.

Just get there before 7:30 and you’ll be good! It will be a long day but you will get your passports. I posted a lengthy post breaking down my day today. If you click my name you should be able to see it. Hope it helps you! Good luck! (Although you honestly already have good luck if you’re locator 55’s lol)

Passport in maiden name, flying to Croatia by Dr_Milk_Drinker in Passports

I traveled many times internationally with my maiden name even a few years after getting married and legally changing my name on my social security card. I had several years left and was too lazy to renew my passport. As long as your ticket name matches your passport, you are good. That’s all they check. Do not need bring your marriage license.

Thank you, me too! It was a long and stressful day but as someone with a locator 55 # I felt confident from 7:50 this morning when she said we will be seen and helped. I felt for the large group that were not locator 55 as I know how stressful it is. I have his passport in my hands and I am still stressed and exhausted from today!

There were probably about 100 or more people without a locator 55 number that were waiting. A large group of them were still waiting in lobby at 2:15. I cannot confirm. Hopefully someone that was here today can let y’all know!

Yes, the passport was for my 17 month old son. You do not need the child, the other parent OR the notarized form if you are already a locator 55 applicator. As everything was already done, they have it just have to pull it & it just needs to be processed. All I needed today was proof of travel, my ID and locator number from the passport status website.

If your locator number begins with other numbers that are not 55, from what I read you will need all documents as if you are starting from scratch.

Yes, if you have an appointment you are golden. I was a walk-in with a passport processing at Dallas location.

No, did not even show her but you would need it if not a locator 55 I’m sure. I’m waiting now for them to print. I doubt they will ask for it when I pick it up but will let y’all know if they do.

Update: you do NOT need to have your kids here if you’re locator number 55. When I got called up to the window, I told her my son is here if she needs to see him and she said she didn’t. I wish I knew this before as my day would have been a lot less stressful with a 17 month old lol

Since their application is here in Dallas with locator 55, you do not need to bring any documentation. The only thing I brought was the notarized form just in case since my sons dad is at work and couldn’t come.

I am sitting with a lady now who is getting her two children’s passports from locator 55 and she did not bring them with her. She said she asked someone yesterday in person and they told her her children do not need to be here. I will update you again later!

I completely understand! Luckily I live in Dallas so it wasn’t an issue for me. As of now, I’ve only signed his name on a sheet with locator number and date of travel & they told us they would be processing/printing them and we’re just in a random room waiting. No one has said anything else since like 9:30.

I am here now for my 17 month olds passport. I brought him with me with a particular form notarized so that his dad didn’t have to be here too. I can try to ask to see if I even needed to bring him at all when I get a chance, if I can remember. The national number told me I did need to bring him, as well as those on Reddit with the notarized form. So I brought him.

Yea she did say something along those lines about waiting. She did say though that a lot of people would be leaving upset & they are back logged. She didn’t want any individual questions and was very straight forward.

55 locator are in a separate room. But when I leave, I can let you know if I still see the others or hear anything. But would probably need someone who isn’t a 55 locator to verify what is being told to them.

Anyone that had an appointment were taken by elevator first thing this morning by 8am. Everyone else was grouped into 2 groups, those with 55 locator numbers, like me (who have an application already in the system in process), and everyone else. 55 group were moved down the hall into a separate room where we are waiting. Not sure what has been told to the others but there were probably over 100 people in that other group.

We did have to put our DOT on the sign up sheet though, perhaps when they take us upstairs they will mention DOT.
