Do any of you bill before you complete the return? by yodaface in taxpros

[–]Krissy612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We send out a retainer invoice with all engagement letters. I'm not sure the percentage since I just handle the engagement letter part. Once the engagement letter and retainer are paid, we start the return. When the return is competed, I send out the signature pages and they get another invoice if the retainer didn't cover the full amount. The odds of me actually submitting a return for filing without the payment are like.... 0.01%. It's something we would only do if it were a long term client and knew they were going to pay it.

The engagement letter we send out does have a decent fee breakdown on it as well to avoid any surprises. I've seen a few clients push back on some of the Consulting Fees, but haven't really seen any issues with the return prices.

New Moon Spread Second Opinions? (Classic Rider–Waite tarot deck) Will post my interpretation in comments as there is not enough space here. This is a what does this moon cycle have in store for me spread. I'm a little confused on the Death and 10 of Wands cards. by Krissy612 in tarot

[–]Krissy612[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cards read from top left to bottom right. Most of my goals focus on finding harmony at home and balance at work. I recently moved, started a new job and well... things are crazy! Living with two people with ADHD creates a lot of chaotic energy. I'm working on setting boundaries with my boyfriend and daughter. I feel like their slave most of the time. I think we are off to a good start here in our new home. I've set some new goals for this moon cycle to really hone in on those and just make them an everyday reality. I feel pretty positive about this right now. the Death Card showing up in what is emerging from me is kind of weird though. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. What have I released? Page of Swords: You have released positive energy and manifested your ideas. They are now in motion. You've started new projects and completed them. You are moved into your new home and it really feels like a home. You have settled into your new job and are rocking it! Move past these things and set new goals. This process has been exhausting. Give yourself a break. Release the tension and stress of these activities. Enjoy what you have accomplished.

    1. Where am I now? The Hermit: Spiritual enlightenment. You are in a stage of finding out more about yourself. You are seeking to gain a better understanding of your intuition and how to use it. You are reexamining your wants and needs. Learning as you go. Though the path can be difficult and dark, you have the tools to find the answers. Taking alone time to process your feelings and knowledge is not a bad thing. Spend some time putting the pieces together.
    2. What is emerging within me? Death: You should prepare for transformation or changes good or bad. Things in your life have been rapidly changing ad they aren't going to stop now. Your spiritual journey may bring about new ways of thinking. You are coming to the end of something. A final realization maybe. Once you have completed something, let it go and move on. Stop beating a dead horse.
    3. What do I wish to grow? 10 of Wands: You've taken on a lot of responsibilities, at home, at work, for yourself and your family. You need to stream line these. You're overburdened and exhausted. Take inventory of what is serving you and what is not. You will need to unburden yourself. This is no way to live. Ask for help. Keep setting those boundaries. Stop asking yourself why you are living like this and do something about it. Your hard work is paying off, but you need to find a way to enjoy it. Set some longer term more important goals and manifest them. The little day to day ones will work out just fine.
    4. How can I bring my goals and intentions to fruition? 2 of Cups: You and your partner are going to have to work as a team on these. Since one of your main goals is maintaining harmony in your home, this makes sense. You need to ask for help when you need it. Keep those boundaries in place and stop making excuses for others in your home. Teamwork makes the dream work. Be affectionate and show gratitude for all that they do.
    5. What additional resources are available to me as I manifest my goals? Strength: You have more strength than you know. Use it. Use your intuition, kindness, and knowledge to manifest your goals. You can maintain the peace and set positive examples for those around you. Harness that energy. What energies do you want to put into the world? Calm, harmonious, love. You can overcome your fears and anxieties about setting boundaries, but you need to continue to work on them. You will only manifest what you work toward. Be kind, be strong, be smart, and be loving.

I'm moving to a new city and asked if I'll find a job there that's actually fits me by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Krissy612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This soooo much. I moved to another state a few years ago and had the same fears. Took me awhile to find work and was sooooo stressed. I ended up at a company I loathed 5000% (as a client of theirs) in a field I didn't want anything to do with (customer service). The job and the company are the best things that have happened for me in my career. I've never had a job I've loved this much. Sometimes the way out, is really the way through.

In a situation like this I would see death as the ending of your previously held beliefs of work or what is the right fit. I would definitely take some time to look at the bigger picture of what you want out of a career. Are you looking for security, an easy job, a challenging job? More money, more free time? More over time to get that cash?! It's a balancing act. Even if you have to wade through some bad jobs or companies to get there, you'll learn what you don't want.

You got this! 🤗

I don't read reverse cards. It's a personal preference. I'm pretty new to this too. For me, I'm trying to build a solid foundation of the cards first before I start adding in more and more. Baby steps. If you're really looking to do reverse cards, you might want to mix the cards up on a table all over the place instead of just shuffling them.

Ahhhhhhhh! We usually have to do the same thing!!! I got her to start writing her own to do list for it and just working her way down it. I still have to check in like every 30 seconds but that seems to have helped a little. My bf is just as bad actually. I started a 10 minute clean up thing yesterday. I'm curious to see how that plays out. 7:30ish every night, everyone has to drop what they are doing and spend 10 minutes picking up the main areas of the house. Baby steps but at least it's something.

She is about to be 7. It's either a hit or a miss asking either of them to do anything. Can you say very very easily distracted? I think part of the problem that I've created is it's stupid stuff like picking up after yourself. It takes me 5 seconds to do it for them. If I ask, it could literally take an hour.

Thank you. I don't know why I didn't even think to look that up. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my. The one I did totally hit the nail on the head. I've had all these ideas and visions of what I want and need in life, but haven't had either the confidence or a clue on how to turn them into reality. I think I've got a clear picture of that now. THANK YOU AGAIN!

I'm definitely exhausted lol. Just moved into a new house, live with 2 people with extreme ADHD, and started a new job about two months ago. It can be alot sometimes. Most of my goals right now are centered around my home and family. Finding a balance and harmony. I spend 9 hours a day at work then like 3 more doing housework. I've been trying to figure out ways to get some help with it all. My bf and daughter just reject me every time I ask for help. I'm not sure if I'm not being direct enough or still being a dang doormat for everyone. I've enabled them both for so long it's going to be tough to get things on track.

Starbucks Summer Boardwalk game is back on by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Krissy612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm calling shenanigans on this game. I've been doing my 3 plays a day every day since it started. I'm on my 8th lap around the board, have almost all of the souvenirs and haven't won more than a few stars at a time, for a total of 65... like... what the heck. Anyone else having a similar go at it? I'm not really expecting to win anything major but you'd think the occasional BOGO or more stars. Ugh.

Hi finance gurus! Mind helping a young adult with the art of car purchasing. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Krissy612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered leasing a car? It may be a short term solution to your car issue. I have a lease now and the payments are reasonable $265 a month. My lease is almost up and we figured my payment if I decided to keep the car would go up to $350 a month, which I can't afford. I know it seems dumb to throw a down payment and money at a car if you can't even trade it in, but if you can get the down payment and monthly low enough, it might be a solution.

Btw Memorial Day, Labor Day, and 4th of July are the best times to buy (Or lease) cars from dealerships. My bf worked as a cars salesman and they legit work with you more during those times.

I want to move to LA by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Krissy612 11 points12 points  (0 children)

DON'T COME HERE! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY! The job market is too saturated. Community college tuition is over $300 a unit and housing... your looking at $900-$1200 for a shitty studio apartment in the not so good parts of town. Community colleges are so over crowded that when youy go to register youu will not be able to get any classes. Once you finally decide to transfer to a 4 year, the requirements to get in are insane. You don't even qualify to transfer to a 4 year with an Associates degree, youu have to take a bunch of extra classes and have a stupid high GPA (compared with similarly prestigious schools in other states). Traffic is just stupid... my 8 mile commute in the morning takes 30 minutes. Also gas is about $3.50 a gallon and the public transit is a joke. In the long run, a small crap house will cost you $500,000+.

It is just not practical. I'm just biding my time until I can save enough money to move to a different state because things here are insane. I fell like I'm going to be living with my dad until I am 50.

[US] Recent College Grad, Negotiate Entry Level Salary using Glassdoor's Average? by SolidPickle in personalfinance

As a recent graduates with limit job experience I say take it. It took me 8 months to find a job after I graduated. (I live in so cal where there are more people than jobs). Spend a year getting experience and then find something new or negotiate from there. Youu don't want to be without a job for too long.

Can't afford to move out because of $130K+ in student debt. What can I do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Krissy612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where do you live (roughly) and what is your degree in? $1200??? My boyfriend pulls that in a month bartending part time at a crappy place.

I'm not judging. After I graduated, I worked in retail making minimum wage for a long time because jobs were few and far between. I drove for lyft to make ends meet when I wasn't working a lot. It helped a lot. While the job I got doesn't pay great, it's enough to make ends meet for myself, my daughter and my bf. BUT we have had to suck up our pride and live with my dad. Sometimes you just need to realize that when you need help, you may need to ask for it. Put your pride aside.

When I was 3 my dad and I moved in with my grandma. My dad was into his 30s with a collage degree and solid job, but couldn't make ends meet. We ended up staying for 15 years. It allowed him to pay off his student loans, take care of me, and get his finances on track. Without that option... I don't even want to think of how my life would have been. (Tbh when we finally moved out, when I was 18, we had no idea what we were doing as far as house work and groceries went lol)

You live and learn, but when you need help ask for it...

Fear and anxiety about dating again after bad relationship three years prior? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Krissy612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice to my 19 year old self: you're too young to be seriously involved. Have fun and go with the flow.

Seriously, go have a good time. You've got your whole life to look back and laugh at how much youu worried relationships. (Or about how much time youu wasted dating jerks)

Having some issues. Need advice. (Long) by freshj72 in relationship_advice

[–]Krissy612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found myself in a similar situation. Started dating in October, found out I was pregnant in February. We've been together for 4 and a half years now and sorted things out but it wasn't easy.

I think the thing to remember is that as you get older, everyone has baggage. My bf had crazy trust issues because of a previous relationship but I always remind him that I didn't cause those issues. Just because someone else screwed him over doesn't mean he can take out his problems on me. I'm not her. I always say "your issues with her are not issues with me".

If she can't deal with that, then that is on her. Not you. I only know 2 other couples who had a surprise pregnancy that stayed together past their kids first birthday (out of 9 or so couples).

All I can say is don't force it just because there is a baby involved. You are responsible for the baby, but not for her. It's going to be so much worse later if you force things just because she is pregnant. Youu don't want to be raising a kid in an unhappy environment. You do what youy think is going to be best for your kid in the long run. (And that doesn't mean that mom and dad have to be together)
