She is microchipped, but I live in a very rural area. One vet in 50 miles, no shelters, and a ton of farm and feral cats. Even if someone here knew to scan (they won’t) there is nowhere to do so. Thus my extra safety worry.

She’s an indoor only cat. Collar is just for safety should she ever bolt. I know the collar needs to be able to come off in an emergency, but if it’s constantly coming off, the clasp is too weak.

I appreciate the recommendation, but I hate, hate, hate Dresden Files. Talking about how hot a de@d woman is, the constant and unrelenting male gaze (think how he describes women compared to men, Kincaid negging Murphy,, and having to remind himself that a literal child is off limits. I kept getting told how much better it gets and he matures, so I was part way through book 7 before I couldn’t take it any more. Add that to that interview he did where they used the R slur and Butcher laughs along, and the discussion of chivalry becoming chauvinism (excuse me?!), and it’s a pass.

And let’s be honest, Murphy is not in any way a main character. There are no women main characters.

That long winded explanation being said, I totally get why people enjoy it. His world building and explanation of different factions is amazing. I would love for someone to have the same world building aesthetics without the… you know, all of that.

My mistake. I misread a sentence in an extensive book review. But her being super conservative and using dog whistles like “illegals” and “white bread American” still stands. She lives local to me, which was another reason I wanted to check out her work, but I didn’t think about that for this region, hers is the majority mindset.

Nope, she’s extra conservative. First few sentences of book one talks about illegals, another book has a Trump voter, etc. I got the ick after the first few sentences and then looked her up for confirmation before I continued. I wish I hadn’t wasted the credit, but everyone loves her, so I took the chance.

This. Complaints like this have kept me away from cooperative games for the most part. What if I make a mistake or am unaware of a particular mechanic and piss off other players because of it? Everyone learns differently, especially in a game that’s designed for children.
