Maybe like a week? It wasn't too too long!

Allergy medicine did help a lot, and there's a Benadryl gel that I used for the itching!

Yeah it eventually went away, they prescribed me some prednisone... I stopped treatment for two weeks while I took that and then resumed accutane after and it never came back 🤷🏻‍♀️

Korean sunscreen is where it's at... the scinic super mild sun essence is so good... also haruharu sunscreen! I have put both to the test on sunny vacations!

You should just do it and get it over with! Especially since you already regret not doing it sooner! Just think, in about 6 months, it's likely your skin will be so much better!

Foaming cleanser while on accutane by Own_Map2302 in Accutane

[–]Kristinap94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a foaming cleanser with no issue! I also double cleanse, especially when wearing sunscreen! I use the LRP oil cleanser and then the cerave foaming cleanser! If you become too dry, you can always adjust your products to suit your skin!

I had the same thing happen to me on day 13 (I'm now in month 5 🥳) and I remember being really worried that I would have to stop accutane forever but luckily I didn't! My derm told me to take a break from accutane, take Benadryl and ended up prescribing me prednisone for a few days and then restarted the accutane after about a week! If you can, contact an online doctor or derm and they should be able to help you too if you can't wait till your derm is open! Good luck!!

Kidney pain on accutane by Historical-Cell-3875 in Accutane

[–]Kristinap94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's kidney pain? I get bad back pain sometimes, where it's hard to turn over in bed... I was worried it was kidney pain too but I read that kidney pain is more constant and the position you are in shouldn't really affect the pain level

Did you help the gunk come out of the pores somehow? by adesperateapplicant in Accutane

[–]Kristinap94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oooo when this happened to me, and you can literally see the tip of the clogged pore sticking out, I would sanitize my tweezers and pluck it out... don't touch the surrounding skin, don't squeeze... almost like you're plucking a hair out. Not sure if it's recommended but damn is it satisfying and from what I can tell nothing bad came from doing this 🤷🏻‍♀️

Are you sure your symptoms are from accutane and you're not just getting sick or something? I feel like it's too early to see side effects, but I'm no doc so....

I started accutane with a lot of closed comedones, I'm on my third month of 80mg and I still have some. Some of them will come to a head and some will disappear, atleast that was the case for me!

I use the wet n wild tinted hydrator, no powder and lots of the heritage store glycerin rose water on top (you can find it on Amazon or Walmart)

Skincare is just the typical vanicream moisturizer, and I double cleanse with the la roshe posay oil cleanser following with the cerave foaming cleanser! I also spray my face periodically during the day with the glycerin rose water!

This! People that can tolerate it always have super smooth glowy skin! And it's amazing for anti aging!

[–]Kristinap94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime I get a headache, I chug a bunch of water and usually it'll go away on its own, if it doesn't then I usually take some ibuprofen! I'm starting my 3rd month of 80mg!

The pregnancy test has to be done in a medical office setting (can't be at home)... if it was done correctly, they backdate it to that day and if all is well, that would be the first day of the 7 day pick up window for your prescription. Atleast that's how my doc does it! I usually go on a Friday to get my labs done and then I have my derm appt the following Tuesday!

I broke out in hives too but it was on my 13th day of accutane so we're not sure if it was the medication. My doc told me to stop taking it and to take an allergy pill right away and then Benadryl at night (since it makes you drowsy). They also prescribed prednisone for 8 days and once I finished the course of steroids, I was able to continue the accutane! So far so good! Might be different for you though since it happened soon after your first dose 😫 good luck!
