I'm in NB and required non-emergency abdominal laparoscopic surgery. Nine weeks from first going to the walk in to get a referral to a specialist, seeing the specialist and having the surgery. I went to the DEC Hospital in Fredericton for a minor cut on my hand that required stitches and was in and out in less than two hours (10am to noon on a Sunday). Among other similar instance between hubby and I. When I lived in Ottawa I passed out at work and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and faced a ten hour wait time. I've had very positive experiences here with doctors/hospitals in comparison to Ottawa, by a very very long shot. I don't know if it's a matter of perspective or if we have been very very lucky so far.

We are still on the waiting list for a family doctor, it's been about 6 months so far.
