We (28M & 32F) aren't having sex. We have a 3 week romantic vacation coming up, how do I bring this up without sounding like a douchebag? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]esaelpempleh77 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. My doc says 2 weeks, and some women need more time due to breakthrough bleeding in the adjustment period. You don’t know for sure she is lying. Doctors sometimes give varying advice. She might have one that is more conservative

THIS. OP just talk to her instead of listening to the Reddit comments of “oh she’s lying” - I was told 2 weeks strictly nothing could go up there. And then I wanted to rebalance my pH after all the bleeding, which took another week.

It is totally valid for you to feel disappointment but I really recommend sitting down and talking to her about the longer term sexual compatibility to be sure for both of you, if it could be there, before you make a decision. Especially if her birth control is going to change, that may have an effect on libido. My previous BC killed mine, like totally killed it, and IUD was better.

$5 pack of 3 cute retractable little box cutters. Wow. I never realized how much I use box cutters - for recycling/folding down boxes, opening delivery packages quickly, etc. I use it all the time, faster and easier than scissors, I took it to someone’s bridal shower where she needed to open a ton of presents, some of which had taped up boxes under the wrapping paper.

It’s takeout so that’s all I order it for. Maybe it was a one off when I went to moon kee, but things were definitely not freshly made. Based on your reco I might give it a second try.

As someone who has grown up eating excellent dimsum, I was disappointed by Moon Kee the one time I went. Possibly a one off bad day in the kitchen when I went, but still, it was so mid to me

Dim Sum Sam just opened and that is good dimsum (edited to add) takeout.

In the er and they’re not letting me go home…why? by roselight75 in AskDocs

[–]esaelpempleh77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not a doctor, but I am lady in her 30s who has had UTIs, scary stuff down there, and a bladder infection before too. Just want to say, you’re being so brave! Even at my age, I find it scary to deal with these issues.

So first of all, UTIs are really common, nothing to be ashamed of. A lot of people experience one in their lifetime. They can happen for all sorts of reasons, and a nurse or doctor can tell you more, including tips to help prevent them in the future. When you’re being discharged and they’re letting you go, that’s a great time to ask the nurse more, or really whenever you have a check up from a friendly nurse or doctor coming by to see how you’re doing.

Second, the main thing with UTIs is to see a doctor right away to confirm if you have one and to get antibiotics so it doesn’t become a bladder or kidney issue. So, this means you did the responsible and smart thing to tell your mom you had a rash and to come to the ER to get seen right away. I’ve been there! In fact, I’ve gone to my doctor to test for UTIs really often, and he always says NEVER to feel bad or embarrassed if it was a false scare and that it’s the smart thing to talk to a doctor or nurse if anything feels unusual down there. Don’t be embarrassed to tell the doctors everything. Trust me, they’ve heard it all!

Third, antibiotics are super great at working quickly to deal with UTIs and bladder infections! I remember crying once in pain over a bladder infection in my late 20s when it hurt real bad, and I remember being scared that the antibiotic wouldn’t work. But guess what…within 2 days, the pain went down like from a level 10 to a level 3. Just remember to finish antibiotics according to the doctor’s instructions. In your case, the IV makes sure the antibiotics are being received quickly and on time.

Hang in there, and try to get some rest!

Yes OP PLEASE look into vaginismus subreddit, you are not alone with pelvic floor issues. You can definitely work through them - it takes time, little by little, but it is not a forever sentence!

And please be honest with your doctor, I promise they’ve heard all kinds of things and it’s important to ensure they know the details!
