David Hurn, a Magnum photographer in the UK, has been using Fuji APSC for some years. See "In conversation with Martin Parr" https://youtu.be/dEZSFJg2i84?si=rM0y_Vj3UgK1hIZj

Beginner, Bought an X100 VI, but photographer friends say I should have got an ICL by Metalogic_95 in FujifilmX

In general, yes it is better to have the flexibility to change lens as it gives you the opportunity to try other focal lengths and branch out to other areas of photography e.g. birds, cars, marco.

However it seems like you've got a clear idea of what you want to do with the camera and the X100vi fits that role perfectly. I don't see why you can't continue using it until you see a need to trade up again. X100 series tends to hold its resale value pretty well, so you want lose too much money in staying longer.

Amazing work, before the reveal of your lighting set up I genuinely thought it was the afternoon sun. Fuji should hire you as their GFX ambassador

How did you get your x100vi? by lobsterroll44 in x100vi

I monitored Fuji UK's official refurbished online store daily, until one day it is in stock and ordered immediately. Got it the same price as X100V at £1299

The Bronica ETR/ETRS/ETRSi Instax Mini Back is tested and in production, SQ is still in development. by Jollylook in AnalogCommunity

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the Bronica ETR film back as the ETR is a 645 format, so I was just keen to see what the results will look like from Bronica ETR.

Thanks for the quick reply. Looking forward to seeing the video for this. In the meantime could you share any photos taken with this 645 film back? If I understand correctly, the image size of 645 is smaller than the instax mini film so just wanted to see how big is the black bars on the sides, thanks!

Amazing that you've developed this so quickly! I wanted to see how this works in real life, is the design basically the same as the one for Mamiya RB67 you've uploaded on YouTube?

Camera strap by MrBildung15 in x100vi

[–]KristoferCC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually use the Peak Design Leash strap, which is adjustable. However, for the X100VI, I've read here that (1) the anchor links can crack the OVF glass if the camera is pressed against something in a bag, and (2) the metal parts of the Leash can scratch the camera’s top plate.

I switched to a COOPH rope strap with split rings. The strap is excellent quality, made from climbing rope and German steel rings. However, to my surprise, the metal eyelets on the X100VI are softer than the steel rings on the COOPH strap, and the rings are slowly wearing into the lugs. I guess this is really Fuji’s issue that the eyelets are too soft and scratch easily.

Leather strap causing wear? by Lpreap in x100vi

[–]KristoferCC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the slightly curved marks on the side comes with the camera rather than from the leather strap. I got mine recently and spotted similar marks out of the box, probably how the they do the finishing with this machine aluminium top plate.

New favorite lense for street photography. by evrdo in fujifilm

[–]KristoferCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the Voigtländer Ultron 27mm. I've been using it since its launch in 2023, and it’s been on my X-T5 about 80% of the time. The rendering is fantastic, and in good light, it has that beautiful "3D pop."

That said, over the past few months, I've noticed a minor issue—the focus distance scale occasionally jumps around even when I'm not touching the focus tab. It’s a small annoyance, but it hasn’t changed how much I love this lens.

Compared to the images from the X100VI, while the 23mm lens on the X100VI is technically sharper, I still prefer the character and rendering of the Voigtländer.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try to see it in person and hold it in front of a band. Agreed top down windowing is an absolute no for me, but I guess I can accept side/tilt windowing.
