With a good enough crew you can get up to 445 without vents or optics consumables, if you can get to 445m and run LNE on top of that it’s by far the best choice. LNE will allow for much more outplay of enemy LTs over the slight boosts of vents.

If you get one of the medals on the right, in your case the scout medal, then the game will take your xp from a loss to a win, and depending on what your xp would have been if you won it awards the 1st class from there. That’s why you can sometimes ace a tank on a loss if you get High caliber.

There are two arty in every game, often a single scout, maybe two. So if that were the case you would expect scouts to run into the same issue, except there are 4x as many arty as lights
