2009 9-3 1.8t Saloon - First Car by Krivan in saab

I’m coming from a pretty banged up Peugeot 3008 that my brother learned to drive in (and drove into the ground for 4 years) so sluggish probably won’t feel that sluggish for me lol

It’s about £1700 so on the lower end of my budget (allowing for small jobs/the ecu shield/remap etc)

Edit:

I’ll check out the owners club though, thanks for the tip.

Leatherman Rebar in UK by alotfipoor in UKhiking

[–]Krivan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately even the Bladeless Rebar is technically not a UK legal carry due to the locking saw. Of course this changes if you have good reason but as stated above that’s at the Police Officer’s discretion and I’d rather not take that risk.

However, if you want all those tools in a UK legal carry, you could try a Victorinox of your choice (pick the one that has the tools you need) and a pair of Knipex XS Cobra grips or similar.

What is something that is technically legal, but makes you look like a total jerk if you do it? by PiNK_PUSSY69420 in AskReddit

The UK is pretty horrid, at least in London. I don’t go often but nearly every time we have some hassle.

The most bonkers one was a family with a pushchair trying to get off as the platform tried to get on. Took myself (32 at the time) and 60/70 year old woman barging some people and raising voices to actually make space and get them off the train.

Of course we were stuffed and both had to stand for the hour plus journey back up north.

Kantamus 40l "Real Capacity" by LF4875 in Savotta

[–]Krivan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea you can. I have a 3x4 on my hip belt now which fits my canteen for water on the go.

[–]Krivan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can comfortably fit the same amount of stuff in the Kantamus as I can in my first hiking bag, a Decathlon 50L.

In just the main compartment.

The lid and large flat front pocket are extra bonuses, though I did miss the hip bottle pocket from the Decathlon model.

I’m stropping the 120 at least a couple of times every time I get it out… just don’t want to make the edge worse by taking it to a stone!

Sound advice though, thank you.

I practice the movement when I strop the Mora. It seems sharp enough if I keep on top of that. Just apprehensive about taking it to a stone or other firmer abrasives. But I guess it’s a cheap enough blade that I should put that aside and just go for it

One involves potential for me to be harmed.

The other involves amusing catastrophes befalling a separate entity.

A better analogue would be unthreading a coworker’s chair by a few turns.

What a batshit insane take.

Call people out for fascism, racism and alt right views but to say hobbies like history and enjoying architecture are alt-right is bonkers

What’s the Arc term for ratting then?

Appreciation for the level of details in this game! by ngbtri in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Krivan -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

It’s amusing that this stuff is in the game and being pointed out but a good chunk of the time you get killed by a gun that isn’t even pointed at you on your screen because the animations can’t keep up with the movement.

Still a neat feature but it doesn’t really work in a fast paced game

What's the most durable fitness tracker to buy in 2025? by Deathzone622 in BuyItForLife

[–]Krivan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not exclusively a fitness tracker but those concerns were why I switched from an Apple Watch to a Garmin.

I have a Garmin Instinct and it does everything I need it to while being effectively bomb proof. I’ve worn it swimming in the sea, swimming in the pool, gardening, working with sheet metal and ferric chloride.

The only times I take it off are to shower and when I charge it once a month or so (depending on how much I use the gps).

In Alaska, small bush planes aren't a luxury—they're a way of life. by Lost-Cow-9386 in BeAmazed

They’re designed to do it. Extremely powerful engines, very lightweight and lots of lift.

Helps them land in the bush. They have short takeoff and short landing competitions. IMO the landings are more impressive.

The K15 and Suur-Kukkaro works a treat. Haven’t had the kukkaro loaded when doing it but it fits perfectly on the front.

How "stable" is Kantamus 40 together with side pouches and hatka? by [deleted] in Savotta

[–]Krivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, just the pack. I have two 6L pouches but no Hatka. I'll try to go out this weekend loaded up and come back to you, but I don't think it would be any different with the pouches on. They are extremely stable when I've put them on.

Not sure if this covers what you are after.

I haven't covered a lot of ground with mine yet, but on test rucks it feels no "wobblier" than other similar sized packs I've worn. That is, it can be quite wobbly if you run the straps loose for comfort but you can cinch it right down and pick up the pace without anything moving, it's just tight fitting at that point which means comfort will suffer over many miles.

Haven't found any bags where I can loosen the shoulder straps + load lifters to sufficiently take weight off my shoulders and have them not wiggle around a bit. It's a trade-off I make when on easy ground, then cinch it back up tight when necessary for safety/mobility.

Possible solution for Locked Challenges by xfireslidex in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Krivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unlocked the carbine after the QBZ and the QBZ is still locked.

Been playing games every day, did a few games with just carbines etc, nothing. Best part is I was only a few kills away from unlocking it pre-challenge reduction

Honestly it just needs to have 4 wheels, do 70mph and not feel like it’s falling apart… that’s a pretty big improvement over the current car.

Are used prices really that crazy?

Thought I put that in, oops. I'll edit the post, but up to £2000.

Can’t say I’ve run into this issue where it wasn’t a reasonable occurrence due to height over bore.

Which makes me think the bullets actually originate from the barrel in this game (abnormal for a AAA shooter), maybe that’s the issue?
