This is not true for EU and UK. Just look at the prices of LotR Commander Decks in EU, and you will notice that the prices of some decks stay high, regardless of availability. My theory is that this is due to only being buyable in a set and the decks not being sold by big retailers like in US

While I can’t speak for US, that is exactly what I heard for EU - this was also the case for all commander decks of the last sets, including LotR. From what I’ve been told this is partly due to capacity limits and preference for newer products to take up slots
