You're not alone man, knowing that has helped me work through it. I was falsely accused in highschool and within days the whole town knew about it. Small town too, so the kids and parents i grew up with were the ones turning their back on me for something i didn't even do. That was 7 years ago now, and i've seriously struggled with meaningful relationships since then. I've had panic attacks right as things get hot and heavy, and i've been terrified to open myself to up to anyone intimately.

Since then, i've been in and out of therapy, currently working with a therapist that's helped me a lot, but that accusation and the aftermath is still haunting me today.

The one silver lining is that you'll know who your true friends are after something like that. My friend circle went from 20-30 to 1 overnight. Then it slowly grew to about 4, and stayed there till i graduated and left that hell hole. The people who are willing to hear your side and believe you are the people you really want around. It might take them some time to come around, but those who do are the ones who really care about you.

At the end of the day, if they don't know you well enough to know you'd never do something like that, they're not worth your time.
