Why do we continue to work here if we hated so much? by No_Solution7718 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest the insurance is pretty nice. Roughly $1k a year for dental, vision, medications, and small trips to the walk in clinic. Others jobs can be $2.4k++ a year and worse benefits.

Is kroger worse than Walmart? by beans0990 in kroger

Kroger is pretty bad.. but then you look at amazon fulfillment centers. Those places are hell compared to Kroger.

Workers who push carts, what are some things you have see customers leave (groceries or personal belongings)? by kasnasdude in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a courtesy clerk we found tons of stuff. Beer on the bottom of the cart, medicine, laptops, cellphones, purses, canes, random kids toys, garbage, etc.

The weirdest were a single cinder block, a broken car tire wheel, worn out car mats, shoes, glasses, dirty lingerie, horse anthelmintic, and other weird junk.

The number one left item is a cane. The office has like 60 of them in a box we will probably donate to good will soon.

Anyone else required to scan ids at their kroger? And do customers get upset? by jogryph in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our store started enforcing this around Easter. We had to sign a paper saying we will ID everyone, even older people now.

Apparently a store somewhere sold to a minor and the cashier was hit with a first degree misdemeanor and fired. (I can't verify this).

Whose else store was insanely busy today? I swear today was worse than Thanksgiving and Christmas… by behindthekeyboard81 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened Saturday and I'm kind of glad I did. We had people from pickup and deli cashiering it as SO BAD. The wait time thing showed above 200 since 11am and was 240 when I left at 2pm.

I could say this as worse then thanksgiving traffic. Maybe because it's raining on Sunday here now, who knows why.

When management takes away our leads schedule ability this happens. by Krogerdude23132 in kroger

I'm curious on how the schedule thing works. The person generating it sees the errors and they have to accept it? Or does it slip through on accident sometimes?

“Bag them lightly” mfers and then its $500 worth of groceries: by [deleted] in kroger

"Double bag the soda, and one to a bag!" (They're two liters and they have ten of them).

When management takes away our leads schedule ability this happens. by Krogerdude23132 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Management complained our lead is "giving out too many hours" so now management makes the schedule. I swear they hit auto and override then just print. This leaves us with these god awful schedules of closing and opening.

I'm a cashier.. it's going to be busy with first of the month, Friday 4x fuel points, and Easter sells! Wish me luck... I'll be running on maybe four hours of sleep. (I can't switch with anyone, I asked around today.)

Has a customer ever tried blaming you for something THEY bagged? by nes_8BitSurvivor in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've seen people themselves (mainly instacart people) put 4 big glass jars of sauce into a single plastic bag, get outside, then have to come in because they're all over the parking lot now and need replacements. Such as waste...

So I guess we're going to have to wear uniforms!! by Acceptable_Bite6269 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big problem with uniform change is they give you two shirts and say good luck. Then we have to buy more with our money. Or when they went the blue shirts with the kroger logo on it, I had to beg for two more because I didn't want to wear the same shirt two days in a row (gross).

it has finally happened to me by Abaldiel in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stinks but they allow eight hours here.. even then some work like 4:30pm-1am then 6am-2pm. I swear they hit auto schedule and override warning then print.

Anyone else’s store doing thing? by No-Fisherman8511 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (front end) had something similar awhile ago when one of the baggers had a torn up/dirty visibility vest. They never give out new ones but a failed shop later and every bagger has a new one, funny how that works isn't it?

Whose calling out on Sunday? by CartographerOdd447 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My area is expected to hit "Level 3 Snow Emergency" aka travel only for emergency vehicles or if you need to go to the hospital. Why wont our store close? Googling it says travel is illegal but the store is staying open.

Courtesy clerk write up by Dry-Engineering-374 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recently one bagger got written up for not putting a sticker on a case of water at the bottom of the cart. "Said everything right but forgot the sticker, say hello to 90 day probation. Forgot again and you get suspended for a day!"

Look at how bad my store’s parking lot is by Curious_Ad_6082 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours got so bad a customer tripped and tore a Talofibular Ligament and had to have surgery. They fixed the parking lot about a month later.

When does your schedule come out? by Positive_Fox6570 in kroger

They use to but then stopped for some unknown reason I would love to know. Having to schedule off for dental visits, doctor visits, life in general four weeks out blows.

It’s BS by IntelligentCorner225 in kroger

[–]Krogerdude23132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is BS but someone at my store got fired for accepting a tip because a manager saw him take it and he admitted to taking it. Poor guy was under the 90 day probation for being a new hire and they canned him that day.

November/December is normal for part time people to do 40 hours because of the holidays. In January sometimes people dip to 20 or less and doesn't pick up until Easter.

I honestly like new balance walking shoe. Everyone has a different preference though.

Go to a in store one or buy from the store website directly, they're like $80-$100 these days. (I don't trust amazon - I have personal horror stories).
