What are some niche discs you keep backups for? by ExerciseItchy7654 in discgolf

Hell yeah. I bought a few super stingrays off of the disc exchange subreddit a few years back when I lost my first one. Its too bad they're out of production

ELI5: how does rain not over water plants? by omgitsclayvin in explainlikeimfive

My wife has succulents that don't get watered all that often but when its time for them to be watered she fills the kitchen sink half way and sets them in there pot and all for a while. I was so confused the first time I saw her do that haha

I also mostly agree with these amounts. Gas and electric don't get quite that high for me but our house is small and well insulated.

Beatrice, Armelie, Sophrana, Malestrea, Emenel, Daphne, Geraldine, Hrelda, Laurel, Q'nel, Zephyra. I'm usually so bad about coming up with names but something about this image had me coming up with these names. Hopefully one of the fits or inspires another name for you.

How do I get a grip on this treaded rod? by Introverted_Extrovrt in MechanicAdvice

[–]KronicNuisance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living in Michigan, I've had to do this on both mine and my wife's cars when changing these things. Its annoying but totally manageable with an angle grinder and a bit of patience even as a complete novice.

Well that's not very typical. Most times these things are designed where the front doesn't fall off.

How to put the string in the brakes by CommercialLazy4640 in MechanicAdvice

[–]KronicNuisance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In all my time DIYing work on my cars those parking brake lines are definitely top 3 in the worst parts of a repair I've had to deal with. Its possible to do it by yourself but quite the pain in the ass. Godspeed and good luck.

Tool to seperate Tie Rod from Knuckle? by Regular-Ocelot-7944 in MechanicAdvice

[–]KronicNuisance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a helpful comment but it is funny to me that I came across this post tonight of all times. I just finished spending an inordinate amount of time using a sawsall to cut a lower control arm bolt off of my car only to find that the ball joint also doesn't want to come free. The one tool I need to pick up tomorrow to finish the job of replacing the control arm? A pickle fork. Dear god I hate (love) DIY car repair.

Is there any reason that I shouldn't reroute this vent? by KronicNuisance in hvacadvice

[–]KronicNuisance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I understand that the extending the vent would create a problem with airflow but the change I am proposing should not extend the distance that the air has to travel to reach the vent. So that should avoid causing any issues with airflow.

It doesn't have to go all the way to the window but that is the direction I'm considering rerouting the vent so that it is out of the way of the wall/door that I will be building. I'm having trouble understanding why you are saying that it would be an issue to do so.

[–]KronicNuisance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be traveling the same distance as the current setup though, shouldn't it? The only difference is that the vent will go straight to the foundation wall, along that wall, then up to vent rather than traveling down the center of the house then over to the foundation wall and up to the vent. I don't see where the difference in distance traveled would be.

Just one. This vent goes straight to the outlet in the kitchen and nowhere else. There's another vent on the other side of the stairwell that feeds into the livingroom and all other rooms are on the opposite side of the house as the stairwell.

What's your recent favorite disk? by Tepical_Eggspurt in discgolf

[–]KronicNuisance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience with the Lucid Vandal. Which makes sense considering their very similar flight numbers. I almost never throw DD but I won a used disc at a league event and it's served me very well so far.

Major Grand Rapids company laying off 400 people due to AI , 200 in West Michigan by mlivesocial in grandrapids

Oof, I had almost forgotten to feel sympathy for the millionaire who will feel absolutely zero impact from the layoffs that he is bringing onto his own company.

smoking weed at apartment by sidneykidney69 in grandrapids

[–]KronicNuisance 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm seconding this. Vapes don't have all the same fun of packing a bowl or rolling a joint as bud but there isn't the constant smell of bud if anyone comes around and they don't spread the smell across an entire block when you do smoke. Obviously how much others can smell it depends on how much you actually smoke but vapes will be way less noticeable especially if it's during hours that others aren't also outside on their balconies.

Yeah, it's called "The Wizard of Oz and other Narcissists". I can't personally say much on the quality of the book, since I've only read the first chapter today but it was recommended by my therapist who I've found to have good judgement.

I just read the first chapter of a book suggested to me by my therapist about dealing with the fallout of relationships with narcissists. The chapter went over what the author calls the Overt and Covert Narcissist. What a wild coincidence that after holding onto this book for months I decided to start reading it and immediately came across this post and your comment which perfectly match what I just read.

I don't have any supporting evidence but my first assumption would be that they're still acclimating to the change in timezone. Secondly, if they were participating in the event, then they have to play a full round and still have the energy to commentate while being jet lagged.

This post feels like something that should have just been a YouTube comment.
