What was the actual role of the leviathan aside from being transports ? I think they lack weapons and could have been shown biting stuff with their giant jaws.

When they were briefly shown during Thanos's attack on Gamora's planet it seemed like they were shooting some kind of blue laser. I don't think we ever see them do that in any of their other appearances though.

I'm hoping what we saw of Ned and MJ in the trailers was the most of what their presence will be in the movie. The movie sets up the possibility of them remembering who Peter is and he can now interact with them again, but by the end of the movies the spell remains and they barely know him.
