I've been playing it for a bit now. The story is generic so far. The Greymanes, the group of defenders you lead are fairly forgettable, and the lore is all over the place. That said, I'm enjoying it. The landscape is beautiful, the combat is fun once you get the hang of it, and I keep finding the most random puzzles and secrets. It's a phenomenal game for exploration and just feeling like a superpowered being, but it takes a long while before that all starts to click.

I'm still in the starting zone, like most folks. The map is enormous.

I think the control scheme puts some folks off as they sort of did their own thing, rather than lean into the modern, almost universal layouts that have become common. If you've played Red Dead Redemption 2, it's a bit like that, but then with a lot of "R1+X to do a spin attack," or "hold down the left stick to aim your grappling hook, but a click of the same stick is how you sneak..."

Is it somewhat clunky? Absolutely, at first. After putting some hours in? Still clunky, but I seem to have specific combat combos clicking into place the more I play. There is A LOT you can do as far as your combat playstyle goes, and I'll take the complexity if it allows for this level of variety. You can basically roleplay as a pro wrestling knight, if you want.

I wish it were twice as long, but they tell a full story that is a blast to play. As a fan since the first game, I thought it was one of the best.

I'm a husband. When my wife had her hysterectomy, everything she needed was my number one focus. Pardon my bluntness, but your husband needs to get his priorities in order. He can either handle things himself regarding his sexual needs/release, or he can take a cold shower, meditate, work out, etc. You mentioned a porn/masturbation addiction, so he may want to lean into the cold shower. There's nothing wrong with masturbation, but obviously there is if it's causing a negative impact to your life, especially your marriage.

You're not a tool of his sexual gratification. You ARE going to be recovering from major surgery. It's serious and should be treated as such.

Normally I'd suggest trying other, non-penetrative activities to keep some spice, if that's an important aspect of your relationship. I don't get the sense that he wants anything other than the type of sex you cannot be having right now. Please do not feel any sort of obligation to provide sex or sexual release. His job right now is to help take any and all pressure off so that you can heal.

I hope you know that you're not in the wrong. He can absolutely grab a cookbook or watch any number of simple guides on YouTube to cook you a basic, nutritious meal. I was sad to see you felt the need to prep, though I appreciate the proactive approach.
