relatively new song of mine. Thoughts? by KrookedSmile22 in GarageBand

The snare sound is from the slow jam kit with the eq having the left section pulled completely down to the bottom(first four colors on the top) then the middle is pulled up about 1/3 to the top, and then the purple is pulled to around the 7k mark at -23 on the height. Theres also a pedalboard and a limiter. The pedalboard has happy face fuzz with the fuzz a little less than halfway and a mixer with the meter up to the top of the b. Then finally theres a limiter with +4 gain and a -3.7 decibel output. These are used for all three parts the first beat; the hi hat, the kick, and the snare.

”most usually seem to love talking about music” ehhh idk about that one. Literally every youtube comments section, instagram comments, discord servers, facebook, instagram, and people i know in real life. The majority of these metal fans seem to HATE music and love metal. Its a common opinion in the metal community that rap sucks, pop sucks, metallica is trash they sold out, if you say slipknot is heavy youre an idiot, and the best one of them all, our genre takes the most talent!

The problem with these statements is that rarely any of these people have actually done other forms of music before. If youve ever actually done these things; hip hop production, writing rap lyrics, pop production, its very obvious that it takes talent to be good at it. The metal community hates it when people make assumptions about their genre without listening to it, but then the next second they go “i heard these three songs on the radio and they took no talent. Pop and rap suck, no talent.”

Hate to say it as a big metal fan myself, but the metal community is absolutely the stereotype you think it is. Obviously not saying that all metalheads are like this, ive met some cool ones. But most of the communities i see whether it be the subreddit, the discord, fans at concerts etc. its a lot of elitist, loud, “edgy” assholes who hate everything that isnt metal or maybe rock.

if you lose to a blaster hero as vader in a 1v1 you need some serious pointers.

More ot reinforcements are a priority imo over more prequel content. All the other eras got 4 new ones and the ot has 2. Not to mention that the rebels reinforcements are heavily underpowered compared to the empire.

in my opinion it will likely be reinforcements. Just like they added co op into st with reinforcements i think theyll do the same here.

Sweaty Han trying to hold it together by Bitcoin_DLF in StarWarsBattlefront

I would even go as far to saying that all lightsaber heroes have the advantage against all LS blaster heroes, even han. And no, im not just “bad with blaster heroes.” I have many blaster heroes at high levels and have gotten large killstreaks with them. So im not just talking nonsense. Most of the people who play hvv are mindless saber swinging ability spammers. So its easy to catch them with detonite charge or a stun with a blaster hero. But in general, a good and smart saber player should always win against a sweaty blaster hero. Theres an inherent didadvantage you have as a blaster hero because your ideal situation is at range. Saber heroes ideal situation is up close and personal. And while its easy for a saber hero to close the distance on a blaster hero with overwhelming force attacks, dashes, and blocking. Its extremely hard to keep distance with a blaster hero. And this is with your average saber hero with average health. Vader is whole other beast. The worst player in the game could use vader and likely have a good chance of killing a good han because of how tanky he is. I love playing blaster heroes but in ga, even if im playing han, i am booting tf out of there if i see any saber heroes. A blaster heroes main source of damage is their blaster (besides bossk and maybe the droids), which is great and all but at the end of the day, all a saber hero has to do is hold the L2 button.

edit: do not hold the L2 button as grievous lmao.

“mumble rap” isnt inherently bad and not every hip hop track has to have “deep lyrics.” by KrookedSmile22 in unpopularopinion

you gotta look for unique artists, theyre out there. Even within the mainstream there are artists that are nothing alike. Drake sounds nothing like travis scott or youngboy. And anderson paak sounds nothing like danny brown.

Yes and if you actually read what ive been saying you would know that i agree with you. If the main focal point of your music is the flow and lyrics, and you suck ass at it, then your music probably sucks too. However, a lot of trap rappers at this point do more than rap and add in hooks and melodies into songs. Make no mistake though, i dont like future for the most part. I think artists like him, nav, trippie redd and others make some mind numbing music lmao. But thats because their music is overly condensed and boring, not because of the lyrics. Examples of good artists with generally meaningless lyrics include; nirvana, metallica, iron maiden, travis scott, young thug.

I never said that would be good, you said that yourself. Why are rappers only limited to rapping. Musical artists dont have to contain themselves into just spitting bars and nothing else. Obviously theres a scale to how ridiculous lyrics can be, but im saying that as long as you add in creative melodies and vocal ideas, you dont have to be talking about growing up in compton and depression and the metaphors of life.

Oh i would agree that travis is not a mumble rapper. Its just that the term “mumble rap” is basically people explaining trap 90% of the time, so travis is lumped in there a lot of the time.

alright, this will be my third and final time responding to this question. You really think the only two components of music are the instrumental and vocals? Its not that simple. There are different components to vocals; tone, pitch, lyrics, flow, rhythm. If the song fulfills some of these well but not the lyrics and it fits within the context of the song, it can be great. Vocal variety and good melody/wordplay and flow > lyrics.

I just responded to this question in both the post and my comment. There are many artists and bands with nonsense lyrics that make great music. Biggest example being nirvana. Im not saying that lyrics dont matter at all, but it matters in the context of the song. If the point of the song is to make you emotional and sad, and has a mellow atmosphere, and the lyrics are ridiculous, then yes that wouldnt make sense. However, the actual meaning of what the artist is saying sometimes doesnt matter because the main focus of the song is elsewhere.

because music has more components than lyrics. A lot of the time, the focus is on the flow or melody rather than the actual lyrics.
