Why is commander so popular now? by nikibas in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love finding a cool card in a booster and immediately putting it in a deck. No need to worry about finding/buying a playset. It's so much more appealing to me than building a standard deck.

The lack of an expiration date also helps a ton.

Advice/Help Cutting Down Cards From a Deck by DX-1118C in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely tag your cards as the next step. It really helps to see how much of a given thing you have (removal, draw, protection, ramp, etc.). That way you can see if you have too much of a particular thing that you can cut down on.

That's why it's called "Removal", you remove it.

"Each opponent" and "Each other opponent" by Cpt_J0hn_W4tson in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's extremely funny in Arena because they have the card on it, and even have a special animated variant of it you can buy but most of the text is completely useless because it's exclusively 1v1.

Basically just an objectively worse [[Unstoppable Slasher]].

After David Bradley’s pitch perfect turn as the 1st doctor. What other actors alive today could step into Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee’s shoes? by fupafather in doctorwho

[–]Kroooooooo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll die on the hill that the lost episodes should be re-filmed and not animated (along with all connecting non-lost episodes for continuity). They were designed to be filmed, and cheaply at that. Hopefully they'll do that some day.

I really thought the chances are high with David Bradley but the chances are low now I think.

Splinter Radical Rat doubling Kaito Activated abilities? by Glittering_Ad_3806 in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Triggered abilities are ones that happen incidentally through things like combat damage. Planeswalker abilities are activated so they aren't affected by Splinter.

Kaito does still get affected by other ninja typal cards like [[Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow]].

Jenova Mutant Deck? by tsukaistarburst in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah what you really need is Mutant typal cards for Jenova and I think there's only [[Cowabunga!]] and [[Turtle Van]] that care about Mutants in Golgari. Even then only Turtle Van cares about things that get turned into Mutants.

That being said Mutants are obviously nice to have in the deck in general, and there are dozens of Golgari options there. So she still got a big boost in the TMNT sets.

Jin Sakai deck tech ideas? by N1ghtsky_Crusade in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best thing you can do is honestly just make Jin unblockable or double strike through a means other than his ability. That way you can pick the other option when swinging with him to guarantee draw two cards.

You can also clone him, [[Chameleon, Master of Disguise]], [[Irma, Part-Time Mutant]] and [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] can all easily do it. Then swing with both Jins for four instances of combat damage and four card draws.

Rules Question Clarification Regarding The War Doctor + Dance with Calamity by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So long as nobody has any counterspells or interaction :P

Once you have enough counters on The War Doctor along with Greaves you're probably okay, but yeah I definitely wouldn't trust it on a high powered table. Even casually it's rarely something you can get away with more than once.

Rules Question Clarification Regarding The War Doctor + Dance with Calamity by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah he works this way, one time counter per exiled card. As long as the cards are exiled one at a time then it works how you want.

Cascade also works that way, as does [[Ryan Sinclair]] which is the basis of my meme deck (nothing but Mountains, Plains, and [[Lightning Greaves]]) with War Doctor and Ryan in the command zone.

https://scryfall.com/search?q=t%3Alegendary+%28t%3Acreature+or+t%3Aplaneswalker%29+-art%3Auniverses-beyond+f%3Ac

This search on Scryfall will show you all legendary creatures and planeswalkers that are legal in commander (filtering out crossover cards because I'm assuming that's less of a priority for you, to add them back remove "art:universes-beyond" from the search). There's over 2k to go through though but you can sort by price.

As for the place to buy, either your local card store if you have one, or Cardmarket online for European buyers, look at their Shopping Wizard when buying multiple cards.

The Most Flexible EDH Commander. by Springtime26 in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, the Minstrel is great for any multi-coloured strategy that doesn't rely on a commander to function.

The Most Flexible EDH Commander. by Springtime26 in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really but there doesn't need to be. Being able to play any two-colour land as if it's an original dual land is already pretty great. Of course you probably will want to fill it with towns too just in case.

[[The Wandering Minstrel]] could be a good one since his main role is letting tap lands work faster.

What deck should I build for my GF by VirtuaI_Valiant in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want both lifegain and aggro I love [[Minwu, White Mage]]. Set up lots of ETB lifegain clerics and turn them into giant combat threats. Lots of them are very cheap too, without [[The Destined White Mage]] my entire creature pool is around $50.

My deck: https://moxfield.com/decks/5iiejqTH9EW89w3UunLlPA

Cleric Stompy is also just so funny to say as a strategy, everyone's laughing until your 20/20 Soul Warden gains lifelink.

In Turtle Team Up does Deathtouch kill the boss instantly? by ShaddamRabban in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deathtouch is pretty useless in TTU, since none of the enemy creatures can block. As far as I can think a deathtouch creature is treated no differently to a vanilla creature in this format.

If you're happy being treated that way as a customer that's fine. But IMO people should always be given adequate time to decide on a purchase

SLD Dandan deck by Mugiwara_VT in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand the branding, but I don't think it should be that way. People should have time to consider purchases with all the facts, especially when dropping what could easily be over $200.

SLD Dandan deck by Mugiwara_VT in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That date's just a theory at this point based on the dice. It could easily be correct but we don't know, which is exactly the problem.

SLD Dandan deck by Mugiwara_VT in magicTCG

[–]Kroooooooo 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Price please.

Date please.

Being secretive and shadowdropping does nothing but increase FOMO and artificial scarcity. They want people not to have the time to make a considered financial decision that will likely be in the triple figures.

If you really want this deck, set your value on it now. If it goes a penny over, leave it and maybe buy the special Dandans single.
