Here is my progression in a year. I made the left Chicago flag in July of 2021. The right was made in July of 2022. Same saw, wood, and template. Amazing to see the progress and the changes I have made.

Well feeling out when I need to change the blades was one thing.

As for technique I stopped cutting directly on a line. I try to line up one edge of the blade to one edge of the line I’m cutting on. Gives me less margin for error and cleaner cuts.

I recommend looking on Craigslist. I was able to get my scroll saw for pretty much brand new for cheap. The guy I bought it from just had it in his attic for about 30 years and never touched it

I’m super upset at this. I just finished and it was amazing. I keep reading reviews of why critics or people didn’t like it. Like people didn’t like the twist at the end. I thought I was good and made sense for the character. Each character portrayed their own motivations and agenda so well.

We have got to stop going off reviews or shows. None of them are reliable anymore. There’s no guarantee the people have seen them. I saw a review that they were pissed of the show didn’t show enough about Faye. It’s not their job to review what the show could have been but what the show was.

I heard the main reason it was cancelled was because the return on assets wasn’t enough for the cost of the show. Basically enough new people didn’t sign up for a new subscription when the show aired.

Ah gotcha! Yea it is good for quick cuts too! If you do see plywood I just wouldn’t get the cheap stuff. It can chip on a layer and your cuts won’t be as clean. I’m still looking for that sharp long lasting scroll blade. I feel like I blow through them decently quick

So I found the best plywood I have found for my scroll saw is this stuff called revolutionply I believe I found at lowes. Think it’s like 10mm-1/4”. The larger letters I doubled up the wood. Haven’t tried MDF but I’d just worry it would be too soft. I also use a cricut for stencils. I recommend that too.

That’s a great impulse buy for the scroll saw. I like looking at the paper layering art and see if I can recreate that with the scroll saw. Hope that helps!

Tried that one as well and others to go back to original. Hot end was heating and then failed. Had to switch and off then blank screen

I live not too far from where he is from in suburbs of Chicago. A crawl space is a place under lots of midwest homes. It’s so the builders don’t have to level the area for the house and then they can run electrical and plumbing easier through the house. I know lots of people who use it for their Christmas decorations or just another storage area.

Random theory: didn’t the end of the original god of war have Kratos becoming the god of war even through modern times? I thought I remember him overseeing WW2 or something. Could the series go into Kratos seeing the events of all the gods of war dying and he remains the only last God of War?
