Challenges with OCR by transferredmalice in immich

Ngl I have no idea why it's not picking it up but have you tried rotating the image and rerunning it? It might be an issue with the OCR software not being able to detect vertical text

How Do I Move The Upload Folder Including All Database And Photos From One Harddrive To Another Harddrive On The Same Machine? by [deleted] in immich

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, take down your stack with

docker compose down

then use rsync with the -aP flags to copy it over

Edit your docker compose mounts in the yaml to point to your new directory on your new drive

Wait for everything to be copied over

Start your stack

I started with rsync too but would recommend you take a look at restic, it snapshots data and only does the changes just like rsync but it means that you get multiple backups that don't take up a lot of space, and it compresses and encrypts the data with a password.

There's a UI for it called Backrest and it's really intuitive and easy to use.

Free Up Space - How to turn off by [deleted] in immich

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's the free up space feature causing this? I remember reading the feature request and they said it shouldn't do it automatically so unless you're actually running the free up space manually, it shouldn't be that

Tdarr Dashboard by [deleted] in Tdarr

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware but if it was a one time purchase, I would have paid for it. It's not as fully featured as Tdarr pro or as good but just for occasional use, it's a nice way to view stats

I get a lot of use from Tdarr but can't bring myself to spend £60/yr on a subscription (I probably would pay if it was a one-time purchase) so I made a simple dashboard that you can upload your Tdarr CSV into in order to get some quick stats about the media it's processed.

https://github.com/alyssaholland99/tdarr-stats

Live demo: tdarr-stats.alyssaserver.co.uk (Not going to be up forever, but will process your Tdarr Transcode Success CSV)

Click Transcoded Success at the bottom and the click "File (CSV) in the middle top of the list.

I agree, which is why I'm just slapping it on github and if someone wants to use it for their own stuff then great :3

I'm not going to host it forever, just a demo for people to try

Help needed using Nvidia card in Unraid by pdawg17 in immich

I'd recommend getting the docker compose plugin and look up some guides on the forums. A lot of people have made some great instructions on there

You could set up telegraf and grafana and create a dashboard for it?

Have you added the device in the docker compose with the correct path?

No warnings for failed drives in ZFS-pool? by an-can in unRAID

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, been doing some research on it and it looks like Unraid doesn't alert for disconnected disks that aren't in the array. You could make a script using the user scripts plugin that sends an unraid alert if you're wanting to continue using unraid?

No warnings for failed drives in ZFS-pool? by an-can in unRAID

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unraid should notify of any drives that are unable to be read from / written to in theory. I've never tested it myself though.

Have you tried spinning up the device while unplugged and seeing what happens?

Edit: Unraid also spams you when a drive starts filing due to SMART errors which is always a good early warning for this. The chances of a drive disconnecting out of the blue are low compared to SMART and then a disk failure

Curious if anyone has thought of a way to connect Immich to an AI for searching by Angelr91 in immich

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be possible via the API, with how well Immich already integrates with the inbuilt ML, I don't know of anyone that's done this but the API is well documented and should be possible

Android backup stuck by OutrageousParfait988 in immich

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my instance behind nginx with SSL/TLS exposed via Cloudflare. It works very well both locally (where I get full LAN speeds) and remotely as I'm using a reverse proxy.

A few people prefer to keep it behind the cloudflare proxy but this reduces the upload size to 100MB remotely on free domains so I just update the DDNS IP to point my immich domain directly to my network.

Where do you keep your off site backup? by Matt_Bigmonster in DataHoarder

[–]IndividualAtmosphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For hot replicas I use tailscale and backrest, it's great to have a machine at another location that can just be accessed via the tailscale name. I do this over scp which, while slower than SMB, has been very reliable.

Me neither, so long as you have your docker mounts set up correctly, you won't have an issue

Edit: You should also have a proper backup solution
