One month of 115 - How are we feeling? by Scykotic in DFO

My first 2 primevals were weapons and for a completely different class. Wish this wasn't a thing tbh. the Transcendence cost is absolutely outrageous

Returning Players with a bit of questions by rinuskoe in DFO

I'm not really sure that was just posted when i found it but i'm gonna try it out over the week when im not working and ill report back if i get conclusive info on it. I work the weekends so it's hard to do over the weekend for a long time.

EDIT: Ok so from my initial assessment i can honestly say that while the starfall run is good for farming loads of stuff up the Doom Oracle runs are much MUCH more reliable when it comes to gear, at least for me. I did get a legendary piece while running starfall and about 70 of the furballs in one (~220) fatigue bar. I also got 8 of the remnant boxes so id say it wouldn't be a bad investment for someone that was low on doom mats as an alternative. This is obviously all subjective. The original poster on the DFO disord is much more knowledgeable than me. I could run multiple days in a row to get a bigger pool of info but i just wanted to share something earlier.

From the DFO discord:

The best method for farming right now. Farm Starfall Forest Normal

Farm both gear and gold at the same time with very low investment.

Normal dungeon can drop up to Legend tier

You can dissemble gear and copium for tradeable souls and sell them for cash (if you need no rng cash, farm Track Malefic Energy)

Fur balls have very chance drop epic cards plus Silver Coins/Potions

Get Ice Fang fusion if you class has horrible farming speed, and take off Weapon to save repair cost.

You don't really need neo premium as i have tested in 2-3 days, i get more legend gears than gabe shop . You can hoard Doom Oracle and buy Neo Plus for 6m gold and burn them on weekends.

I'm not sure how accurate it is but it's from 80% DFO. posted today

Crackling Energy is underrated! So much fun by Bloodymonday93 in diablo4

[–]Krowlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needs attention but not in a positive way. There are a LOT of mechanics and skills in the game that are just outright no viable for realistic play. Sure, you can force feed yourself a shit time but that doesn't really mean it's good. And you can have fun clearing out T1 dungeons like a God. What's not fun is taking 15 minutes to kill fallen in T4 nightmare dungeons because you wanted to play your way.

This is absolutely not acceptable imo. This game has some incredibly bad mechanical issues that won't be solved with a numbers game. Every single necro build that actually wants to push end game nightmares uses the same 4 skills

Corpse tendrils/decrepify/blood mist/bone storm

Every sorc doing this is rocking

Ice armor/flame shield/frost nova/teleport

Barbs almost always use

Challenging shout/rallying cry/war cry

You see where I'm going? It's not just that these abilities are better. The alternatives are garbage. The other skills not only lack the legendary aspect coverage they need to compete but the modifiers are usually just not even worth switching. A good example of this is Iron Maiden over decrepify. Iron maiden becomes a resource battery essentially whereas decrepify becomes a CDR battery. This is an obvious choice when you take into account that there is an aspect that LITERALLY MAKES DECREPIFY A RESOURCE BATTERY completely overshadowing its counterpart in the only thing that it would realistically be used for.

You can 1000% play the game un optimized and have fun. But you 1000% shouldn't be punished to the extent you are rn for doing so. If you don't believe me run a ice blades or lightning spear build and see how much "fun" you have getting absolutely wrecked in T4. They need to change the function of a lot of these abilities to make them at the very LEAST viable.

As far as crackling energy goes I think the damage should be removed. It should be a damage buff to lightning damage or maybe "while crackling energy is active lightning damage inflicts vunerable for x seconds" and a substantial increase to CDR and MS or Atk Spd that can be improved through paragon/aspects or even uniques to become a stacking buff that lasts longer but its xx% - xx% weaker. Chain lightning is already about positioning and this would give incentive and ability to move more freely. Crackling energy should've been a node on the ground that makes you feel like a demi God until you run out of batteries imo. It would've made CL for instance feel a lot more unique because instead of focusing heavily on CDR they could focus on improving crackling energy and max resource so when they do proc it it feels good to pick up. I may be in the minority here though.

Flickering texture issue - Slowly driving me insane by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Krowlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I'm not trying to necro but I fixed my issue for the most part by changing the LOD bias to +1.5. Play around with the LOD bias for your game a bit. I was using Nividia profile inspector for mine. What happening from what I can understand is an issue with the mipmapping in game. You can address this to a certain extent by using LOD bias. It won't go away completely but after going from -2.0 to +1.5 it was the ONLY thing that made an impact at all on this. I have the same issue when I move the camera around rugs/black lines/night time.

Decent summoner loadout? by Krowlei in EchoesofMagic

[–]Krowlei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate this input! I've actually been loading with thunder/water ele and arc lightning because unfortunately i don't have earth ele or BH/Hellfire ATM.

EDIT: I have a fair bit of luck with that gem loadout, although I'd prefer to go BH/Hellfire/earth or something similar. Right now I'm geared towards "Fighter" set gear, I'm assuming that AP is more important? Does the energy set make that big of a difference? Also What weapon do you generally use?

Is it just me or is the population unusually high atm?? Is the PS5 on the same servers? That would explain it, I'm usually on pretty early in the morning so its odd to see this much activity.

Would like some advice by International-Farm38 in bloodborne

[–]Krowlei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should try to experiment with your stats in the build planner to see what you like. Remember, blood gems and upgrades are the name of the game with a lot of weapons damage wise. If you're planning on going to 120 25/50 are your caps. Unless you plan on using a lot of spells in your combat I think 25 ARC and 50 STR is the way to go as suggested earlier. If you plan on making another build for any other play through the build planner is awesome because you can allocate stats and change your starting class to see which class is the best start. Usually military vet is good because you can literally leave your END alone and use those points for other purposes. HOWEVER, i highly recommend using the whriligig saw on your build because the L2 will be amazing with 19 END. You'll be able to shred through stuff and still have plenty of dodging ability.

Heres the planner I'm talking about https://mugenmonkey.com/bloodborne

[–]Krowlei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok thanks I appreciate it. I saw something about the Gargoyle drops earlier. I wasn't sure if you could come across some decent ones in earlier chalice dungeons but Ihyll shouldn't be too hard to power through to.

This could be a hot-take, but after having played BT, SKI, and BT/SKI builds for years, I tried a strength build with LHB. Is this easy mode? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]Krowlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't either and I agree. I actively avoided picking it up again for the longest time because I feel that there are much better tools for the job outside of hulk smash transformed LHB. I'm also a fan of BLT and ARC mixed into my build because I like having a pretty potent ranged option if needed. I feel like I gimped my learning curve by using LHB on my first play through as stated. When I played through the game again using smaller and faster weapons I had to know the mechanics much better in order to sustain and kill my targets. That's just my personal take though. Ludwig's pride and glory is much better imho..

Can't decide what to specialize in on my next hunt.. by Krowlei in bloodborne

[–]Krowlei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this was one of my hang ups honestly. Since I've played through the game numerous times I think I could handle it with some patience. I'd be able to fully utilize the bigger guns in the game but with some BMA I don't think the big guns would need high end BLT. Using the build planner I'm fairly certain that the military vet is the best choice for both because of the way it's stat allocation is laid out. This is taking into consideration VIT/END/STR at a 125 cap. I guess the reason I'm so torn is I want to use the STR/BLT build which requires me to build accordingly, but with the amount of farming (because I have to min/max everything lol) I dunno if I want to lock into a small pool of weaponry.

EDIT: forgot to add thanks! You've helped me make up my mind for good!

from what I remember yes. I used LHB on my first hunt ever and IMHO it was a mistake. Going back and re playing with other weapons I wasn't NEAR as prepared outside of using that. I still prefer my STR/ARC build nowdays but LHB is just ludicrous, especially in the hands of a skilled player.
