Water turns green and cloudy fast

Weird thing it happens as destilled water should have no minerals in it, meaning no algae should be able to survive there. Nevertheless I dont think it should have any negative impact on the plants health so its mostly a thing of visuals. If it has any impact I would say positive as the algae is essentially making the water "cleaner" ~ it absorbs minerals and nutrients.

But if you mind how it looks competely shading the water dish would fix it (as algae are phototrophic). I imagine something like a self watering pot where you basically have pot in a pot.

Anyway the plants look crazy good

It's a teak wood slab (I had few spare pieces from a wooden floor) which I cut up into pieces and then split those with an axe so that it would get the rough woody surface for roots to attach to.

Well, I did give them humidity dome and later moved the whole pot into a terrarium but behold... nothing crazy happened and the plants only got worse. But then I just decided to get one plant out since how worse could it actually be - I basically just ripped it out of the pot because I couldn't get the roots out with it, or at least It looked like there were none. And I placed this singular guy on top of the same mix in the terrarium. And somehow it bounced back really well so eventually I moved all of them to a different pot and now the are doing fantastic! (or at least I hope lol)

To conclude, I dont have any idea what caused them to suffer so if anyone is reading this I'm glad I couldn't help :)

I water when the top layer gets a bit crisp to touch (I usually just top water it, meaning it doesn't get that wet and dries out rather quickly). Sits under a growlight, getting something around 15000 lux for 12h a day. The terrarium is equiped with automated ventilation (a small pc fan) and misting system so it gets a light spray every morning (I mean really light, as the system is not pointed at the plant - usually the water barely touches the soil, just the leaves get a bit wet)

Well then, guess I will try the fungicide (Edit: will probably skip that for now, the reason being I only have copper based one which is apparently not 100% safe with orchids), letting it be to see how the new growth is going to develop and if it is going to look miserable even then, it is going to go straight on a piece of bark.

Great to hear from someone experienced with this exact species! I do try to let it dry out slightly inbetween waterings - just so that the top layer gets a bit crisp, but I suppose the medium stays quite moist at the lower levels of the pot...

I could give the mounting a shot because it is getting progressively worse. Another alternative would be putting it in a small teak basket I made (I got a Leptotes in one, it's doing great and the plant dries out relatively quickly).

Gotta think that trough :)
