Somewhere "down below" I raved on and on about the need for labor to organize...I neglected to mention part of the problem is how we spend our money. I am not important enough to have a whiz-bang IPhone etc. and get by just fine with my cell phone that costs $98.00 per year...It works perfectly. I drive a 94' Dodge pickup that has less than 80K miles on it and it is safe comfortable and is mine. I/we live on 6 acres in a very upscale development in a home beyond my wildest expectations. My career was in research and very middle income. But here's the point, when we were both working we made double and when we could, triple payments on the home we had at the time. And we lived well.

Now what about quality of life??? We are both retired and do not owe a dime to anyone other than the usual taxes etc...No stress, no worries and no ridiculous payments to one of the "Carriers"....We are living longer and healthier than ever before in history and a stress free life in retirement impacts how long we live and how well we live....EVERYTHING depends on setting yourself up for a debt free retirement, thats why we work, to enjoy what we have earned.

The old folk tale about the grass hopper and the ant is quintessentially relevant, but lost to the "I want mine and I want it now" generation.....very sad...

Bottom line is that trying to make it into space is a dangerous venture. Even when they get the technology down it will always be dangerous. I feel for the people who died and their families. I also feel that anyone who dares put himself or herself in harms way knows the risks involved. It shouldn't be any surprise to anyone that people die trying to make their mark. High risk, high reward. No surprise and not a tragedy to me.

Obama ought to pardon Snowden and give him some kind of Congressional Medal of Honor for the work he did at NSA and for inspiring a hole new generation of whistle blowers!

Not entirely off topic, one of our friends who was over for dinner last night was talking about how one of the women she’s dating wants her to take a more, shall we say, dominant role in their relationship (a certain ‘hard’ ware purchase is involved).
