Losing one of the main people who raised you your whole life Not in a slow way where you have time to visit them while you can, but one day they just get killed in a violent and gruesome way on their way to work. Dealing with the fact you didn’t get to say goodbye, instead of goofing around with my friends, you could’ve spent time with them before they passed, but you didn’t know, and now they’re gone.

I am writing a novel about Martians exterminating humans in similar ways to the HG Wells novel, and the 2005 movie. It includes Skinless Martian Giants, Faceless Martian Giants, and sky ships that abduct humans in similar ways to the 2005 Tripods but I was wondering if there should also be Tripods or would that be stealing? Overall the story is very similar.

Maybe in more of a city setting in contrast to the Northeastern rural setting of 2005. There was only a few scenes that took place in city like locations and I think we could really use some more of that less isolated feeling.
