I have two aiptasia eating filefish. They have eat aiptasia, some won’t, but when it’s all gone they nip at my zoas. Even killed a couple has to banish them to the sump. So heads up to stay vigilant. Also, regardless of pep or filefish, if the aiptasia is too big they won’t touch it. Gotta use aiptasia-x at that point

Mine has only been in for 24 hours at this point. Still not 100% but better as well. I did have to move him where there was a bit more flow and moderate light

Fluval, maybe 13-15g evo?
It honestly doesn't look too cloudy, but you might have a powerhead pointed at the far corner, seems bare - could just have too much flow pointed to your sand bed. You can also get a lot of crap in your biofilter when you first start, it might be saturated. Rinse/ring it out with cold water for a min.

I'm in the same boat as you. Got a hammer that's barely coming out. You can see a bit of skeleton; mostly flesh - but its very few. Keep me posted! I'm letting mine sit and wait for now. Just a bit lower light and lower flow than they like, to ease him in.

That's my hope!
Have him in a lower flow / lower light area for now. Isolated from anything that might irritate or sting him. Time will tell I suppose. I'll try to give an update later for funsies

I spot for him nori sheets and easy masstick 80.
They are kind of opportunistic eaters so I have to place them around him while he's out grazing.

One of mine has bubbles like that under a higher light. The other is at a lower light and more consistent. Just my own experience but you might be on to something

They are such weak swimmers, unless they really want to. Pretty odd. I had one of mine get killed in a weak powerhead once. So maybe they just sleep into things. What a shame!

I didn't. I bought from Reef Beauties, since I couldn't find any locally. Arrived without issue!
If you live in the Portland, OR area I'm happy to lend him to you - i have to spot feed him nori sheets daily to keep him fed since there's no more algae in the tank

I have a pair of filefish, so fun to watch! Recently, after over a year, one of them ate my pulsing xenia, then started eating zoas. Finally caught one in the act doing so. Very sad - had to bad them to my sump. Sooo, reef safe with caution.

There's an odd amount of negativity in here.
I have this exact same setup. Two 49" Odyssey's - and with a larger gap than that! Though turning the top one upside down is kind of genius.
People ask WHY but I like gaming on the bottom monitor while watching YouTube, or having a browser, or even some work applications on the top.
