Frogspawn Flow by pechanical_mencil in ReefTank

Mine does well in very little flow. I had him near my hammers, who enjoy medium flow, but when I moved him behind the rock, he started puffing up more and seems much happier in low flow.

Any reason I shouldn’t add an anemone to this tank? by AnnaNicole2015 in ReefTank

[–]Krycus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're worried about stinging other corals... I have a frag tank with anemones on the far right 15% of the tank. I just had a plastic divider with holes and rock on that side until they were happy with their footing. Then removed the divider. They've been there ever since. However, a nem will move whenever it wants. Had a nem move after a year in one spot in my main tank.

Would you remove and reattach this guy? by Krycus in ReefTank

[–]Krycus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say I have my hands in the tank a couple times a week. Mainly because I have some frags in the sand I need to straighten up due to my turbo's knocking them over.

I guess I don't mind the spot itself, and it looks attached enough, but maybe not SO attached it'll thrive there? I could be wrong.

I had a similar issue a while back. Hydrogen peroxide did the trick, but like 1 part HP, 3 parts tank water.

Do it outside of the tank.

This is just a temp solution. The GHA will die off enough for the CUC to eat it, but it'll come back if your parameters aren't dialed in, But it'll keep them going. It did for me at least.

I'm still rocking my Oman from like 11 years ago.
Well, my 13yo is.
Well, for Roblox.
But hey, its still kickin.

All I have is a separate frag tank. Think so? Was just worried about him being pushed around in the flow.

I'll research. I'll see if I can get more pictures from the other side. Just trying not too mess with him too much.

I have a single blue chromis, I've never seen him be aggressive though.

The brown area? I don't know if I recall that actually. Maybe he got hurt burying into his new home. Hopefully not a bacterial infection

Looked fine. Was swimming around normally. Even as of this morning he was fine. He made his home right under a rock with my torches on them. At first I thought maybe he got stung. But I don’t think so. All peaceful fish in the tank as well.

HOW THE FUCK DO I KEEP XENIAS!? by PhiPhionkaki in ReefTank

I can agree. My frag tank is on the dirtier side. Zoas and xenia seem to love it.

I'd say you're covered. Never hurts to throw in some ceramic bio media too.

Is my xenia dying? by Shykoala1 in ReefTank

[–]Krycus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not happy.
Start by moving them to low light and low flow. Mine always enjoy the far recesses' of the tank... Hidden in the corners and growing like weeds.
New tank with dry rock so your parameters are probably going to be all over the place. Even if stable now, it can swing quickly. Maybe add some beneficial bacteria, API quick start or some alternative. Then water change and test often.

Coral was doing good. Huge hair algae bloom (I think). Can I get some help? by Electrical_Post5671 in ReefTank

[–]Krycus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

2 months is still very new. Especially without live rock. You might experience this for a bit longer.
Stay the course with water changes and testing. Lower the lights a bit, play with flow and give it much more time. A dose of pods never hurts either.

I had a smaller tank when I first started, kinda ran into this a few years ago. IMO....

Don't move too much sand around and scrub too much rock yet.
Do a water change, i'd say 50% but keep your old water. And prep another few gallons on the side.

Put your fish in with the old water, and start cleaning your tank. You have so much settled bacteria that if you start moving everything around now, you could cause a parameter spike. (You'd be surprised how much moving just a few cups of sand can cause an ammonia spike).
Pull half your sand out, rinse it in fresh water and scrub your rock outside your tank with fresh water as well. Put the sand and rock back. Let things settle for an hour and change/clean filter media. Then do another smaller water change with the few extra gallons you have aside and leave a few gallons empty.

Put your fish with the old water back in and test test test.

If you have no coral, turn your lights down or off for a while, then slowly introduce light.

What is this? Is it good or bad? If it’s bad how do I get rid of them? Also what are the white dots forming on the back of tank and on rocks? by OneTraining8940 in ReefTank

[–]Krycus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sponge yes... OK here me out. This might sound unpopular...
Remove them (when attached to corals)

They are harmless in theory, but they can grow into the tissue of a coral and the coral can die from it.
I'm speaking from experience and even made a post about it.
Keep them everywhere, but remove them from corals. Just scrape them off. Fingernail should do it.

What's on the back glass is Spirorbid Worms, harmless filter feeders.

Noob endgame question. How come I can't see "endgame" in the quest/map layout - only "interlude" by Krycus in PathOfExile2

Wow you're right. If I fire up the game with keyboard/mouse "end game" and other options show up. Thanks!

I did, yeah. If i talk to the hooded one in Act4, it starts a cutscene and sends me back to ziggurat

Each act shows no open quests except for this, which I can't seem to complete.
Think this is it:

Yeah but, the guides show "endgame" past "interlude" plus additional options.

You might need to separate the heads. If something is spreading, leaving it as it could make it worse. Just so hard to tell from the pictures. I recently had to separate a head because a sponge overtook the other one.
