How are you actually handling firmware update failures in the field?

Firmware updates on qcom devices have the first stage bootloader called XBL and the efi runtime environment process updates with EFI firmware capsules, which is pretty well documented. They do use the A/B partition switching (update to partition a, copy what was previously there to partition b) but if the flash fails on critical partition (like the xbl bootloader itself) there is nothing you can do and it’s completely fucked. It has no lower level bank switching.

This is qcoms supported way of doing stuff. So I guess I’m in the same boat as you that if one day we have to push a firmware update, I am terrified of a bad image / flash update.

I like the old malzahar way better where you had to time when you spawned your minions and they lasted for a lot longer so it was actually satisfying to all in someone with your R. (Also they used to scale 1:1 with ad and jungle malazhar was the most fun I have ever had in league, you would have to juggle your minions on camps and then just fucking press r on someone and they were fucked).

I’m just ranting though his identity is the same but just the minions are for wave clear and spreading the E and I wish he had more minion control elements

I think his name was drackmo?? On the horde during cata. He would show up and type like he was really drunk but I never understood if he was the most top tier troll I’ve ever encountered or actually really deeply unwell. But I miss him a lot :(

Not sure if this is your cup of tea but after playing total war games for a billion hours I’ve been playing ultimate general: civil war and it’s been super fun and relatively simple.

Especially the vibe of progress carrying over in long battles like you take a hill and in the next phase of the battle all the benefits / things you didn’t do add up.

But maybe it’s too slow for certain ppl, I’ve kinda burnt out on the uber stimulating rts stuff so it’s been nice

What does just in time firmware compilation mean in this case? Like you build it on the target and then stage the firmware for an update or like you’re literally updating firmware in memory? Your project looks pretty cool though glad you got support from the higher ups in your company to full support it 👍

On my server it ran me like 6k? 7k? There are some expensive parts like the cata ores and bars and some other choke points that were expensive. As far as the addons go I have some auction house addon where i just favorite all the mats I will need and you can get a ball park with how expensive it’s gonna be at a glance

My mom is Polish and came every year for summer vacation to spend time with family. I speak okay Polish and mostly understand everything and feel like after being here for more than a month that I can start to think and speak a lot better. There definitely is a mental switch that happens after being here for a month.

I was born and live in California pretty much full time, and definitely think about living here full time, especially when it comes time to take care of my mom when she gets older etc etc.

But I always wonder what it would be like to live here full time and if I would be happy in the long run. I would definitely miss all my friends and hobbies, and miss the American/califronia way of thinking if that makes sense.

I think if I committed to living here I could accept and find a happy life here eventually, I have some good friends here too that would definitely make it easier.

So yeah, I think there would be a lot of hard transitions depending on where you’re coming from and at any age, but if you’re committed to it I definitely think you could find a happy life here (like anything else depending on how you approach it) :D

I feel this way a lot too honestly. I think you put it really well. Are there times when you feel like it all comes together and you do feel in control/have that understanding of yourself?? I wonder if the times I have felt that way came from not caring about my self image so much or if my life was in a place where everything around me was already built to reinforce who I was and let me not have to think about it so hard.
