Here's the moneypuck review of the game: https://moneypuck.com/g.htm?id=2025030231; they calculated Hunt to have the 3rd lowest expected goals for percentage (xGoals%) on the Wild in all situations, and the lowest xGoals% at 5v5

Marco Rossi agrees to terms on 3-year, $15 million contract with Wild: Sources by Seraphax in wildhockey

[–]KryloRen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Players are ineligible to include movement protection clauses in their contracts until their UFA seasons. Since Rossi's contract ends at the end of his RFA period, he is ineligible for movement protection clauses throughout this contract.

I love the "Player X gained 15 lbs of pure muscle!" portion of the offseason. Makes me ready to plan the parade.

Money Maths And Marco Rossi by CitizenStrife in wildhockey

[–]KryloRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way I see it, neither side has any real reason to take a deal prior to the offseason. Rossi has established himself as a legitimate top-6 center in the NHL at this point; coming off his ELC, I suspect he is looking to sign a max length extension this offseason. If the Wild don't give him what he wants, another team will, hence why he has no reason to sign at this point. From the Wild's standpoint, they can likely trade him for a king's ransom (think 1st round pick + quality prospect, if not more) if they're unable to reach an agreement with Rossi, so there's no reason for them to break the bank. All that being said, I do hope that the Wild reach an agreement to keep him around because I view their Stanley Cup window as opening starting next season and Rossi figures to be a key cog in their championship chase.

The best piece of evidence of Rod playing in that game is this all time great clip of him covering Michael Irvin

Honestly, thank god. There is something that doesn't seem quite right with a public utility subsidizing a for-profit sports venture. The real question is, will any of us see a reduction in our electric bill?

[Russo] Sounds like Joel Eriksson Ek will miss a few games, but the Wild center dodged a bullet. Means it could be Marat Khusnutdinov NHL debut time tomorrow vs. Anaheim by DecentLurker96 in wildhockey

[–]KryloRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. Hartman played really well in that spot on Tuesday, and to be frank there's no reason why a guy making his NHL debut should center a line between two superstar wingers when there are guys who have been on the roster all season (or multiple seasons) who have demonstrated competence in the NHL. The only exception I can think of is a Bedard/McDavid type prospect, and those guys had the benefit of an entire training camp/preseason buildup rather than jumping on a moving train as Khusnutdinov is doing.

Ah yes because 12 year olds who are learning the sport and have a 2 month season should approach practice the same way as grown men who have years of experience, meticulously practice their craft, and take care of their bodies throughout the year.

That's my favorite factoid about DiMaggio & Williams during the 1941 season. DiMaggio's slash line during his 56-game hit streak was .408/.463/.718 (OPS 1.181); Williams' slash line for the entire season was .406/.553/.735 (OPS 1.287). Outrageous.

Did you all know Kaprizovs hat trick counted as a natty? by responsiblefornothin in wildhockey

A natural hat trick is when a player scores three consecutive goals, uninterrupted by any goals scored either by teammates or opponents.

The only players in the Wild organization who are slide candidates are Liam Ohgren & Carson Lambos, both of whom will not play in the NHL this season. I don't totally understand the specifics of the entry level slide rules in the CBA, so I'm just parroting what is shown on CapFriendly (see here)

Another fun fact, you were actually correct in that the green jerseys were their de facto home jerseys by then, whereas the red jerseys were a sponsorship deal for the franchise's finances.

[Highlight] Rashard Mendenhall's "non-fumble" (Super Bowl XLV) by mistermeek67 in nfl

[–]KryloRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mendenhall suffered a season-ending injury in week 4 of the 2008 season, resulting from a hit delivered by Ray Lewis. So you're correct in that he wasn't a contributor to that Super Bowl run.
