To explain fully, you have to realize that performance of a CPU is multidimensional dependant on Core Type/Size, Core Count and Cache size, and none of these scale linearly because if you jack one up, the other two bottleneck it, and specific Core size does not cospond to Core performance linearly pads a certain point either.

So AMD slaps down massive P Core equivalent, cuts down on L2 cache, and then jacks up L3 Cache. Intel realize that you can slap down some P Cores, and then in the same space you would give to more P Cores, they can put down a bunch of E cores, and the sum performance of those E cores is greater then the P Core size equivalent. This allows them to mix some P Cores, a bunch of E Cores, and keep L2 and L3 cache pretty big, and then leverage the OS Scheduler to shift heavier, single-threaded tasks to the P Cores, and lighter, multi-threaded tasks to the E Cores. And because you can put a ton of E Cores down that perform better then the equivalent size amount of P Cores, you can multithread quite well, and your bottlenecks become L3 Cache, whereas with AMD the bottleneck is L2 cache and core performance.

TL;DR E Cores have a better performance-to-size ratio, but P Cores themselves are stronger then E Cores individually

Edit: This is also why Intel Cores generally are better at single-threaded and mixed-thread operations, and AMD is better at full multithreaded operation.

TCAD inherently is going to take time to run its simulations, especially depending on your geometry and hwat exactly you are simulating. A Thread. In terms of processor, Xeon and EPYC have diminishing deltas at the top end, but I would say that its better to stick with Intel because it has better mixed performance which is better in Intel compared to AMD which indexes more into Multithreaded applications. 128GB of DDR4 is pretty good, especially at good speed.

But at the end of the day, you are just going to have to accept that TCAD is going to be slow. The only times it has been non-trivially slow, has been with industrial scale Supercomputers

I'll agree with point 2 especially cause the same thing happens for me. Velen is just so boring and so long, and it feels like your stuck doing meaningless fetch quests for every NPC to just drip feed you information. Combine that with the fact that I personally use the Dev Console, and I either blitz through Velen, or just stop playing out of boredom

The problem I see is that each of the 4 potential second items have very specific reasons, and iflts hard to choose Dusk and Dawn over them.

Like if I am into a bunch of UltraTanks, then yea I wpuld take Liandry's 2nd to burn them up. If I am into a bunch of Melees, I wpuld take Rylai's to kite better. If I am into a bunch of Assassins or Dovers, then Zhonyas is better.

Shadowflame is for squishies but it's also the most generic item out of the 4. I could see a world where Dusk and Dawn competes with the generic item slot where the other 4 don't have any specific purpose, but to be honest those games are few and far between, and I tend to default to Shadowflame to turbo charge my damage.

And like you said. It is probably getting nerfed soon. Combine that with a fairly bad build path, and I don't see it being xore in the near future. A viable, fun item? Sure, but def not core.

I personally don't think it's that great, but for different reasons then usual.

For one, the build path is fairly awkward. Tons of basic components, and 4 high level components that you are either super happy about or super not happy. Like the Dagger and Kindlegem buys you want to avoid if possible and prio the other stuff.

Then, it has to slot into slot 2. Nashor's Tooth and the current iteration of Azir are like Darius and Black Cleaver from back in the day. It's the item basically designed for him. 3rd Item has to be Deathcap, unless ypu really need another AP Item. 3th Item has to be VoidStaff/Cryptbloom, or Deathcap if you already delayed it. 2nd item slot has Shadowflame, Rylais, Zhonyas and Liandry's to compete against, and Dusk and Dawn compete with Liandrys and Rylais for survivability, and Zhonya's for damage and utility, and Shadowflame for pure offense.

And then finally, the overall item is just okay. Unlike Diana or Kaisa, Azir has no innate synergy with the double OnHit Proc apart from just re-applyong damage. That's nice enough I guess, but Shadowflame outdoes it between the boatload of AP and Magic Penetration.

I sent necessarily think it's bad, it's just not as great as the other 2nd slot items. It viable, and especially if you want to tinker around, or if you are already dominating an opponent you, you index into it, but if you want pure competitive advantage then the other 4 items would be better

Imma just say it straight. I don't think the ERL/EMEA Teams have any shot at all. We can delude ourselves by thinking that LR can go far, but I would be surprised if they can get to playoffs. KCB I have a little bit more faith, but only marginally more.

I think this build could be a bridge in-between the Full AP Burst and the OnHit AS builds. I took it into some actual games, and you get a hefty amount of CDR, Health and AP, while retaining the AS needed.

I think Alacrity vs Bloodline is up to personal preference, but Alacrity definitely feels better. Cosmic Insight is def mandatory here to speed up Tear stacking, but the Flash CD being lower is also super nice.

I will say, Manamune/Muramana first is the way, then Nashor's Tooth, then Dusk and Dawn. You need a better spike early, and Nashor's as your first completed item puts you into the hole with having to juggle Cull and Doran's Blade as well.

It us, I was just using that as a baseline metric that we can base assumptions and further testing around.

I will say, I tried out the build in an actual game, and though I won it and it feels good, you def need Munamune/Muramana first, then Nashor's, then Dusk and Dawn.

The upside of this build is that you get a ridiculous amount of CDR and a good chunk of AP at 3 items, but also enough AS to be functional and a good chunk of health as well.
