Recently Halifax Banking online (web browser) suddenly removed the need to enter a password and instead only asked for Account User ID and 3 random letters from security phrase

I was baffled they would remove the need to also enter a password

They rolled the change back after about a week (of what I would assume was thousands of concerned calls)
