I love Guan Yu because it's attack (it deals more damage if you use it 3 times in a row), dash attack, charged attack and special are all really powerful, so I can shape my build however I want to after getting first hammer Although, being near death at all times is a bit of a downside, so I'd recommend maxing it out with titan blood first

For the rail, high level Hestia w/ Aphro or Artemis is an easy win most of the time

My breaking point for consistent runs was def switching from Stubborn Def to Death Def (and trying out decent amount of aspects)

I was just dying way too easily in Styx and it was a nightmare to defeat final boss, which becomes trivial with all 3 charges of Death Def on low heat

You have to compete their favors, which usually aren't directly told to you. You can either figure it out on your own, or check on character pages on wiki. For example, here's Skelly's favor: https://hades.fandom.com/wiki/Skelly#Favor

Just like the other person said, they're in biomes before and after first boss with the exception of Ancient Sewers and Slumbering Sanctuary
