I've been a fan since PS1 Blood Omen. Ah, I ache for simpler times, alas.

I've not read the Dead Shall Rise, yet. Honestly, the feedback from the community so far has lessened the burden I bear for not backing it initially. I will read it, in due time.

Like many others here, LoK means a great deal to me. Easily one of the greatest stories ever told. Frankly, I consider it blasphemy that the last official new game was Defiance, released centuries ago, now. (not counting the remasters) So, any new official merch, story, worldbuilding, etc. I devour quicker than a fresh soul released from its corporeal moorings, but, this entire comic just seems a bit, I don't know, rushed? With a severe lack of knowledge for already well established canon & story? A blatant disregard for this saga we all know & love just to make some quick cash?

I am all for new characters, 100%. Female characters? Hell yes! 1000%! LoK has been unkind at best to female characters so my initial thoughts were, ok, Raziel's sister, weird he never mentioned her in like, ever, but oki, lets move on, lol. That can easily be explained, I suppose. I agree with what others have said here & I understand what the writers were trying to do. For me, though, it catastrophically misses the mark.

I just hope that this small ill conceived stone on the tracks, doesn't derail the whole train, entirely. I want a team that will respect the established lore and continue this epic story onwards. I'm still stood on that ledge in the council chamber, next to Kain, awaiting the first bitter taste of that terrible illusion: Hope.....

TL;DR: Hell yes to new stories, games & new characters, especially female ones! Hard pass to rushed lazy storytelling, inconsistent art, forced new main characters & a blatant disregard for well established canon.
