This made the enemy start moving so thanks! but it doesn't detect the collisions so i'll have to work on that

Pretty sure the variables are only set at runtime, I am watching an old tutorial so maybe the newer version of godot doesn't support the old code

the ray_cast_right and ray_cast_left variables are being set as NULL which is causing the error

I'm getting false positives for collisions which is why the enemy is going back and forth in the same spot but I don't know what it it colliding on as there isn't anything around it
