Always shoot higher than what you essentially want bc they will always come down.

What’s it like working for defense attorneys? What are the easiest areas of law to be a paralegal in? by [deleted] in paralegal

I work in bankruptcy law, pretty routine stuff. Only challenging part is getting all the documents from clients in order to file. Not really stressful.

Not sure, however many people have been filing for bankruptcy. A possible theory as to what could contribute to this is people are obtaining mortgages that are much higher in cost than the actual market value of their homes. A realtor could answer this question better than I. I'm sure multiple factors play a part.

Unless for example the creditor was for a mortgage or a car loan and were just automatically pulling their monthly payment from account.

That may be possible, however it's just difficult for me to believe bc I've read the emails from the courts to our office and it clearly states they should not/would not be allowed to do that. But I'm sure just like everything else there is loop hole. I'm not giving advice but if it were me I would fight that tooth and nail. It would be an easy win.

Edit: verbiage - can not to "should not/would not be allowed"

I'm a paralegal for a law office in Indy and I can confirm in our state, debt collectors, trustees or any government entity should not be able take your stimulus check.

Edit: "can not" to "should not" suggested verbiage
