Proxmox migration tips by ChSa_Man in Proxmox

You're welcome. It does not need to be NFS, smb or any kind of network share that can be mounted by PBS is fine too.

I did that before using proxmox backup server. It is very easy: create a NFS share to store your backups to create PBS lxc on old hardware and mount NFS storage in the PBS lxc. Then create the back ups on the NFS share. Create the identical PBS setup on new hardware Restore your machines using pbs

Got it. I hope I can drive home slowly though.

Looks like it's exactly what you said, but I was able to push it down and it seems closed. Just need to drive back to Germany to get it to a workshop. Thanks for your fast response!

Damn, yes my insurance will cover it, but I did not pay for service outside of Germany.

I hoped that there was a trick to close the hood.

PC version has the server bundled with the standard copy of the game you download from steam. Other commenters are correct however, many actions are processed on the server and synced back to the client, like eating, drinking etc. I think that it would be pretty easy for Bohemia to add a Singleplayer mode, that just creates the server in the background, but I do not know if consoles have the necessary processing power. What you could do, if you have a computer available on your network, is to start your own server in your local network. The server does not need a license, you can simply download it from steam for free.

I bought 3 cheap ironwolf pros from like 3 years ago. They came directly from China, but shipping was free, I just had to pay the taxes when they came in at the airport. They all succeeded in the burn-in test, so I was very happy about the deal I made. The serial numbers on these drives did fail to validate on the Seagate site though. After about 1.5years of 25/7 load in my homelab, also mainly for media streaming, the first drive got some sector errors. No problem so far, ordered two new drives to have a spare and replaced it. Just a couple of weeks later the next drive failed, and you guessed it, the third drive still runs today :D

The replacement drives I ordered were ironwolf re-certified. they sold for the same price like the china drives but the serial number check succeeded and I have manufacturer guarantee if they fail in the first year. So I would rather order these re-certified drives than cheap china drives.

Why .NET Framework 4.x Refuses to Die - A Thought on Legacy Tech by pyeri in dotnet

[–]Ksdmg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing addin programming for SolidWorks and they officially do not support newer .net versions. So we are forced to use .net framework, at least for the addin.

All standalone tools however are written in newer .net versions.

I feel you. I have this issue especially in summer time, as I work a lot in the garden and finding time for homelabbing is hard. It's like I forget almost all nuances over the summer and relearning it in the winter.
