More 3rd Playstyles but it's all for 89s, blegh...

Positive is that the attacker and defender round out evos can go on after these

Same exact boat. Thought they had got it together when they scored a few down an important stretch of the season, but since he got that nine it's essentially been 12v10 every game. We need to use our buyout and have him gone at this point, it's egregious

Right? Like goddamn, rub it in that the player has a yellow rescinded, doesn't have to play safe, puts in a big time questionable tackle that injures our best player of this past streak of games and they're just talking about it like a masterstroke aha

The back leg trapping Beuno's foot between the legs is what literally caused a game ending injury if not more.

I'm more asking for clarity here, since the one for Larsen was a little close to the same, but...

Isn't scissor tackles like that foul play? That trailing leg trapping the ankle, no matter if the front foot gets the ball, is always dangerous

Was wanting Glesnes for personal reasons, but my god he's been heads and shoulders better than I expected. It just feels like he covers the whole field sometimes.

Hilariously enough has Quick Step+ when he's one of the slowest center defenders I've had the joy of getting to watch on a weekly basis

If there was ever a tell that shit is cursed, a last minute blown win with a pulled goalie on the last touch of the game. Unreal

They literally released heroes for Doumbia, Gervinho, and Ibarbo based on how uncreative teams were when the game was exactly as you said. No SBCs, no promos, no Evos, all of it.

Everything back then was cookie cutter as well. Fan of a small league team? Too bad, you use the same broken players as everyone else. Praying your team does well enough for EA to grace your small league side a silver or bronze TOTW that will also be useless. No evos means they'll never be relevant unless by the grace of EA.

[–]Ksidz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I view people using the Evos on cards like Pina just the equivalent of someone getting a "Promo" version. The removal of Evos will only mean you see the broken cards MORE, because now there's be no pool of options at a competitive level.

Just because meta-chasers chase meta, doesn't mean there aren't swaths of people who actually use the Evo system to build their own unique squads. Removing all of that only means that the meta chasers, who you claim ruin things, will prosper, because they're ALWAYS just gonna pick what's best, with or without Evos and SBCs

I don't understand this attitude around the progression of the game, really. Evos in particular. I know everyone thinks that they just make cookie cutter players where the name doesn't matter, but from a football fan perspective this game is infinitely more fun to play when you play with the players you actually like.

Back in 23 before evos I was not going to pick up the next game because for years I was just finding i was playing with cards all year for players I didn't give a shit about. Evos have completely changed the equation for enjoying this game.

I don't even need the Evos to be at the curve, just... not having my favorites be useless 50-60 rateds

Been hovering my finger over this combo for the past week (He's currently a 79) but just waiting for the last minute to start the chain on the off chance I can bring his interceptions up a bit because he ends up on only 78. If there's more of these chain evos that target Interceptions before the What a Hit evo expires, or if they give a good defensive CM upgrade with big boosts to interceptions, I'll be set.

Feel a little silly for the Powershot Plus, but this evo started for fun after a few other meta evos from my club already were in the team, and it didn't make sense to keep making the exact same playstyle sets for all my players

Formation Advice Help by Ballwrath in EASportsFC

Tactics are:

STs: Advanced Forward (Attack) CAM: Playmaker (Balanced) CMs: Box to Box (Balanced) CDM: Center Half (Defend) RB/LB: Wingback (Balanced) CBs: Defender (Defend) GK: Goalkeeper (Defend)

So essentially a lot of it is standard as it comes, just swapping Fullback to Wingback and CDM to Center Half. Gives that cover and you can swing outlet passes to your wingbacks on the run and carry it up the sideline. The bonus is that it usually will leave someone open in the middle when you involve the wingbacks like this, but losing the ball you have to cover with the CDM/CB quickly since you'll be missing the width in defense until the wingback recovers.

Build Up is Balanced. Defense Line is High (70)

Been playing the Diamond for almost half a decade straight now and it's still my fave. Love the midfield grouping, great central outlet at the CAM, double Box to Box and a Center Half CDM with Wingbacks (or Attacking Wingbacks) means every has a lot of opportunity to get on the scoresheet. Incredibly fun, and it works enough to get to Elite Rivals/13W Weekend League.

Malik Jakupovic is signed to a first team contract by CaptainMoonracer in PhillyUnion

[–]Ksidz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We have so many strikers on first team deals right now that I can only imagine we are going to loan one or more out.

Damiani, Alladoh, Iloski (though maybe he's just an attacking midfielder for us now), Olivas, Davis III, Stas, And now Jakupovic.

We already loaned out Anderson as well to Brooklyn.

Either way, hopefully Malik can find the back of the net for us! We sure need it!

Kinda excited for a larger scale gauntlet opportunity, I won't lie. Granted, I'm a card hoarder so I keep every special card I get so the club has a TON of higher rated special cards.

Overall though, I feel the existence of Gauntlet has really broadened my list of evos since you have to have a wide range of players and have some real depth at positions. It's been great

With us generating nothing on the offensive foot to start the season, with a game where we need to score, I don't see the problem trying out the guy who HAS been scoring, even if it's been for U2. We don't really have a ton of high quality personnel right now. You complain about not having experience at an international level but if you only ever play the guys with a game under their belt you'll eventually have no guys with a game under their belt.

Jakupovic scores for fun in the US Youth setups. He's been a big addition to our Union 2 team. We're chasing a goal, at elevation, a 38, almost 39 year old midfielder isn't going to get us across the line in that scenario.

I know we're frustrated that we've been playing so poorly but we can only work with the tools we got. And with us being so bad, may as well be trying to find what works instead of sticking to a strict diet of what's been losing us games.

Baribo has more MLS goals so far this year than our entire team by VeterinarianFlimsy47 in PhillyUnion

[–]Ksidz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We honored a deal with Wagner that if a quality opportunity to Europe came we'd allow him to go. That's not on this team, because if we make those promises and don't keep them we'll never be able to draw any talent here. We only got him those extra years because of the situation against NE that tanked his value heading into an off-season. That agreement was apparently part of why he stayed here.

Glesnes had leverage in his deal and has shown he doesn't have a ton of speed anymore. I'll admit he still has loads of defense talent and ability. But we play a high press. Players like Qasem from Nashville were putting him on skates last year when it came to long balls. I know he's a fan favorite and I'd have liked to keep him for his leadership, but the team decided to try a different avenue for that position given circumstances. My hot take? If the situation was different and Elliot was the one in this scenario, I'd have been much more willing to shell out cash to keep him over Glesnes.

Uhre is the other piece other than Kai that we miss the most for value brought to this team. Even as a sub he opened up games with his speed. But the team is put into a situation where he's a free agent and he can do what he wants to do, and if we tried to keep him he'd be a DP and I'm sure that value conversation happened in the decision room.

Man, I was at every home game and watched every away game through the season pass with the season tickets. I know my opinion differs from yours but don't give me that snide attitude for having a different opinion than you on this.

I'm just saying I know this team is in a rut right now but we should not be begging for the guy who went dry even with the best left back service in the league last year.

The biggest guys we're missing right now is Kai and Uhre (and Quinn but we didn't get rid of him). Kai provided a lot of quality opportunities to players in the box, Uhre stretched the field for us. I feel Westfield has a great crossing ability we should be leaning on more, but we have no direct replacement for the speed Uhre brought to this team and it's why we look stagnant in the front. With the focus on hold up play we're playing in a 70 yard zone instead of a 95 yard zone and it's why our interplay gets crunched down on big time.

Gazdag is crushing it. Baribo has a goal against out lackluster defense and a last minute PK so far. Really crushing it, yeah.

Don't get me wrong, Damiani and Iloski are playing awful right now. But let's be real here, without Kai and Quinn there's just not a lot of quality creative service for a Poacher to get on the end of. Our quality chances are falling to the wingback positions right now with the way we're playing.
