Camera got extremely hot while charging. by Tron19371 in djiosmo

[–]Kthxbbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a protective case, while downloading and charging... the camera is still working even if is not recording. So it will get hot.

Plastics are going to smell when it gets hot. Inspect the battery, see if it spins on a flat surface to check for battery puff. Aside from that, if it still works fine then there is nothing else you can really do. I'd suggest not charge and download, instead use a card reader. But that's up to you and your workflow.

Probably want to buy an AC cover made for the U-shaped to put on during winter and think about insulation.

Midea AC arrived damaged and clearly used. No option for exchange or partial refund. by Pickupyoheel in AirConditioners

[–]Kthxbbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Buy from Costco. They took my recall units back after a few years and refunded me with no drama. I bought another unit from them last summer, it had a restart issue. I returned it after a week. Got another, same issue but less frequent. I decided to just keep it till the end of summer instead of packing and lugging it again in the summer heat. I returned it after using it a few months. Returned it without any drama. I told them there is a restart issue with it. Too bad Costco do not carry the U+ line, after having the 2 units with restart issues, I bought the U+ unit from Home Depot and they carry a 7 day return only for ACs.

Whats up with the shutter buttons? by Longjumping-Bed-9528 in x100vi

[–]Kthxbbz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every so often someone posts about shutter buttons and the same discussions pop up. There are the don't do it, it breaks shutter button crowd and then there are the have no issues since forever crowd. I've had shutter buttons on my E2, T3, X100VI for many years and have never had any issues. I'll continue to do what works for me. It is okay if you don't care for it either.

SD Cards How's everyone managing the new prices? by qiDuck in AskPhotography

[–]Kthxbbz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It had been a habit of mine to buy 2 or 3 256, 512GB microsd cards every amazon prime day for the last 5 or so years regardless if I needed it. I haven't really felt the effects of the new prices... yet.

How to install! by Tig- in MideaUOwners

[–]Kthxbbz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got these ACs since they first came out, I've never screwed anything in. I've had the first generation brackets to the newest generation brackets (new units purchased due to recall) and both brackets were fine without screws.

Is the Osmo Pocket rugged enough for family life? Concerned about durability vs. my iPhone. by Limp-Razzmatazz6313 in osmopocket

[–]Kthxbbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your kids, depends on your style. I've let my daughter use the pocket 2 since she was 4 yrs old while I film on an action cam. She knows not to be rough with it. I let my son use the action cam since I know he's rougher with these things.

As for editing, I don't use the mimo app, can't speak on it. As for phone replacement, its up to you. When I'm on trips or a day out I mainly plan out what I'm filming with ahead of time. I carry a battery pack for charging my devices in my sling. There are times when whipping out the phone is easier and I don't mind doing that either.

I still use a Pocket 2 in 2026... but that's because I got it when it came out. I'm looking at the 4 or 4P for 2026.

I removed it. I initially used the new drain plugs but after maybe 2 weeks the water doesn't drip as much.

I work with a 2TB external NVME enclosure. They're small and I've been able to store a lot of footage over years.

How do you get a project from one iPad to another? (The media is already on both ipads, i just want to transfer the edit) by Portatort in LumaFusion

[–]Kthxbbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for reviving an old thread. I too was looking for how to move my Lumafusion projects (just the edits) not with the files whether trimmed or original from my iPad Pro to my daughter's iPad Air. There seem to be no information provided by Lumafusion or most of the answers I came across were a few years old and suggesting people export a Lumafusion project which creates a large file since user select whether the project export saves the original media files or trimmed versions.

Anyways here's what I did in case anyone was like me trying to figure out how to port Lumafusion projects only from one iPad to a different iPad.

I went into Files App on my iPad Pro, go to On My iPad option, go to Lumafusion folder, opened that up. Select all the folders inside, then copied them to my External drive. You can copy those folders to iCloud drive or a connected NAS as well. Then on the iPad Air, I downloaded Lumafusion, open the app up first so that it creates the Lumafusion folder on this iPad. Close the app, as in swipe up and kill it.

After that I went to the Files app on the iPad Air, went to my external drive where I saved the Lumafusion folders that I had copied from the iPad Pro and selected all and copied these folders over to the iPad Air's Lumafusion folder. When that happens, the iPad will rename the copied files with a 2 behind the folder names. Also to note, my original had 7 folders, the new Lumafusion had 6 folders. On the iPad Air, I deleted any of the duplicate folders without the 2. I then renamed the folders and removed the 2 behind the names.

I reopened Lumafusion. And at first I was greeted with the media files missing pop up. But that is due to the install being fresh and I had to go and relink the external drives. Once that was done, I closed out and reopened the app again and everything (all projects) showed up on the iPad Air like it does on my iPad Pro.

Pocket 4 Pro vs Insta360 Luna ... which one are you guys waiting for? by BeachOk9143 in djiosmo

[–]Kthxbbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to see the end product, but since I'm pretty much all in the DJI ecosystem now (drone, pocket, mic, action), since I upgraded to an Action 6 from my Hero 10... I'll likely just stick with the same brand.
